  • Compensation: $50,000 annual base + bonus. Annual total compensation is roughly $65,000.
  • Location: Columbia, Maryland (Onsite work required).
  • Work Hours: 9 AM - 5 PM Monday - Thursday and short days on Fridays, plus availability for leading evening seminars or meeting with clientele

Retirement Financial Paraplanner Summary:

We are currently seeking a motivated Paraplanner (Financial Planner Assistant) to join our team. In this role, you'll play a critical part in helping our clients achieve their financial goals!

As a Paraplanner, you will work closely with our team of Financial Planners to prepare comprehensive financial plans for our clients. Your responsibilities will include handling administrative tasks, such as managing paperwork, liaising with custodians/financial institutions, providing client support, and ensuring that all processes are efficiently managed.

This role requires flexibility as working hours can vary from standard 8-5 PM schedules, especially during weekdays, with some Fridays as shorter days. If you're looking for a family environment where your contributions are valued, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Retirement Financial Paraplanner Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Financial Planner to manage paperwork and document submissions, ensuring the prompt and accurate processing of pending transactions
  • Preparing and participating in client meetings alongside Financial Planners to provide support
  • Facilitate the submission of various financial applications, including insurance, annuities, and assets under management, to financial institutions. This involves gathering essential investment information, obtaining all required signatures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and confirming the accuracy of client information.
  • Manage various service-related tasks, including handling client requests such as beneficiary and address updates
  • Assist in preparing financial plans and other information for client presentations
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and assisting with their needs, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional service
  • Ensure compliance with all industry regulations and standards when handling financial paperwork and transactions
  • Efficiently managing and organizing client documents and financial records
  • Handle incoming calls, schedule appointments and classes, provide calendar management support, and perform other administrative tasks to support the Financial Planner and team
  • Collaborate closely with the Head Paraplanner and Financial Planners to effectively meet goals

Retirement Financial Paraplanner Requirements:

  • Active State Life and Health License is a must (or willingness to take and pass the test within 30 days of employment)
  • 3+ years of client service experience in a professional office setting, ideally in a related area such as financial planning, banking, mortgage processing, financial institutions, etc. where accuracy, timeliness, and client confidentiality are of the utmost importance
  • Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Redtail) is a plus
  • Meticulous attention to detail, especially when managing paperwork and financial documents
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
  • Technical abilities - must be comfortable with computers, Microsoft Suite, Excel, as well as online financial institution platforms
  • A self-driven planner; Naturally punctual, organized, and structured with your day!
  • Carries a welcoming and uplifting personality who enjoys working with and helping clients!
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including 2 - 4 evenings per month for seminars and to accommodate client availability
