Holistiplan information

What is Holistiplan?

Holistiplan is a tax planning software designed for financial advisors. It automates the process of analyzing client tax returns and generates customized tax planning reports. By uploading a client's tax document, advisors can quickly identify planning opportunities and potential tax savings. This enables more efficient and proactive financial planning, helping advisors provide greater value to their clients.

What is the difference between Holistiplan vs Financial Planner?

AspectHolistiplanFinancial Planner
CredentialsTypically requires CFP certification, financial planning backgroundOften holds CFP, ChFC, or other financial planning credentials
Work EnvironmentSoftware-based, used by financial advisors for client analysisAdvisory firms, independent practice, or corporate settings
Industry UsageUsed as a tool within financial planning servicesProvides comprehensive financial advice and planning

Holistiplan is a software tool that financial planners use to analyze client portfolios and generate tax-efficient strategies. In contrast, a Financial Planner offers personalized financial advice, including investment, retirement, and estate planning. While both roles require similar credentials and work within the financial industry, Holistiplan functions as a supporting technology for financial planners rather than a standalone advisory role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Holistiplan user (financial planner), and why are they important?

To thrive as a Holistiplan user, you need a strong background in financial planning, tax analysis, and client advisement, typically supported by certifications such as CFP or CPA. Proficiency with Holistiplan software, tax planning tools, and financial modeling systems is essential. Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and attention to detail help you interpret complex reports and deliver actionable insights to clients. These skills ensure accurate, efficient financial planning that maximizes client value and supports informed decision-making.

What are the typical daily tasks and collaborative responsibilities of a financial advisor using Holistiplan software?

As a financial advisor leveraging Holistiplan, your daily tasks often include uploading and analyzing clients’ tax returns, generating tax planning reports, and identifying actionable strategies for each client. You’ll frequently collaborate with other advisors or paraplanners to review client data, discuss planning scenarios, and ensure recommendations align with broader financial goals. Holistiplan streamlines workflows, but effective communication with your team and clients remains essential to interpret results and implement strategies successfully.

  • Develop actionable recommendations to address clients' planning needs.
  • Compile, input, and monitor CRM workflows related to financial planning requests.
  • Support the creation and delivery of internal training programs.
  • Conduct research and assist in developing client-facing presentations.
  • Stay informed of and communicate updates on changing financial planning, tax, and estate regulations.
  • Perform ad-hoc research on topics such as Social Security, Medicare, and retirement planning.
  • Manage and expand relationships with wealth planning software vendors, including RightCapital, Holistiplan, and Vanilla.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in wealth management, with a preference for experience in a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) environment.
  • CFP designation preferred, or commitment to obtain within the first 1 year.
  • Bachelor's degree in Financial Planning, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in tax, investment, and estate planning strategies.
  • Experience with financial planning software (RightCapital, Vanilla, Holistiplan) highly desirable.
  • Strong project management skills and enthusiasm for continuous learning.
  • Excellent professional communication skills and business acumen.

Why Join Us?

  • Competitive base salary starting at $110,000 - $140,000 commensurate with experience and skills, plus eligibility for discretionary bonuses based on individual and company performance.
  • Comprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, vision, prescription coverage, 401(k) matching, life and disability insurance, parental leave, and flexible spending accounts.
  • Generous paid time off, including 17 vacation days in your first year, 10 paid holidays, and Summer Fridays.
  • Meal perks, company events, team celebrations, and a collaborative, supportive culture that encourages innovation and growth.

Our Core Values

  • Commitment: Passion, integrity, and energy in every action.
  • Collaboration: Together, we are stronger, smarter, and more innovative.
  • Continuous Improvement: Dedicated to growth-for clients and ourselves.
