We are searching for an experienced Operations Manager at our Indianapolis DC facility.

This is an onsite role based in Whiteland, IN Distribution Center.

Summary
TheOperations Manager provides leadership, management, and effective communicationto both customers and co-owners, while meeting operational and financialgoals. Manages daily warehouse operations withinassigned functional areas, ensuring execution of operational plans,productivity, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The successful person will beable to drive operational performance at the site level, focusing onproductivity, quality, and cost metrics.
Theywill do this while maintaining the receiving, warehousing, and distributionoperations with the established policies, practices and procedures duringassigned shift, multiple roles and shifts are available. Those samepolicies and procedures need to be reviewed from a continuous improvement lens- and the Operations Manager should champion any improvements. Responsibilities
  • Oversee operational and personnel activities in the facility and ensure the safe, clean and efficient operation of the site
  • Hire, train, develop and evaluate staff effectively, consulting with the HR team as needed
  • Maintain work schedules and work assignment
  • Ensure time and attendance is properly maintained, monitored and approved in a timely manne
  • Ensure efficient utilization of all equipment and the coordination of maintenance needs
  • Maintain and model the 5S Workplace Organization standard; ensure all safety procedures and policies are followed
  • Partner with staff to manage and always maintain appropriate stock
  • Ensure compliance with specified contract metrics
  • Maintain high standards of operational efficiency
  • Ensure quality management system procedures are implemented throughout functional groups
  • Focus on productivity, quality and safety requirements in accordance with company needs and customer requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of in a supply chain, warehousing or distributionenvironment
  • 3-5 years managerial/supervisory experience
  • Proven track record of the ability to mentor and develop supervisors.
  • Safety Management Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred
  • Inventory Control knowledge.
  • Analytical reporting skills
  • Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Process Improvement knowledge and experience
  • Experience in an AS9100 or ISO environment
  • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience
  • Working knowledge of financial accounting, including developing and/or managing a P&L; experience with HR practices
  • Ability to effectively manage changing and sometimes spiking volumes
