Position Objective:
To lead, direct, and supervise a team of credit managers of a Financial Services Region. Assure the company's credit policies, practices, and procedures are carried out in a manner that will result in justified business risks, maximum sales, sound receivables, elevated customer experience, and increased quality of earnings. In all actions and communications, the Financial Manager must demonstrate impeccable ethical standards. This position requires engaging the Region Team through PX around key metric goals aligned with corporate goals while also developing team talent through influence and targeted selection of new associates. A key focus of this leadership position will be influencing the Customer/Associate Experience.
Essential Duties:
  • Engage team to ensure timely, cost effective, efficient, and customer focused credit processes and policies are completed.
  • Create, recommend, adjust, and communicate approved credit policies and procedures.
  • Works within assigned authority levels, as well as team, for credit line extension and maintenance.
  • Manage the accounts receivable investment for the Region and submit periodic reports to management on high exposure, elevated risk, large dollar past due accounts and other collection situations. Negotiate and/or authorize installment notes, evaluate, and recommend place for collection, write offs, closed bad debt files, monitor and manage active bad debt files, all within assigned authority levels.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with internal and external business partners for the purpose of improving our products and services to positively impact the Customer Experience. Work with marketing to assist in sales growth for the company.
  • Communicate clearly, accurately, and effectively through both written and oral communication. Effectively handle contentious situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Participate in special projects, audits, or committees as directed.
  • Establish goals/metrics for region and influence through coach and development to achieve performance measurements.
  • Report all unusual and/or significant contacts/conflicts with internal and external customers.
  • Effectively analyze and understand all aspects of bonds, bond claim filings, preliminary notice filings for bonds or liens and materialsman's lien filings. Providing coaching and guidance to team.
  • Review and approve non-standard terms for individual orders as well as accounts within assigned authority levels.
  • Effectively coach team, review and understand all aspects of security and recourse documents.
  • Strong financial acumen knowledge: knowledge and understanding of financial management, analyzing financial data, to ensure good judgment and profitable decision-making to enhance revenue generation with the ability to share and develop team with same ability.
  • Strategic thinking: understands and shares "big picture" vision, aligning efforts with the company's strategy and values. Realizing the ramifications of decisions both short term and long term for the company and customer.
  • Implement the departments "Key Initiatives/Metrics" as established yearly by the Sr. Management team.
  • Maintain a healthy and robust PX platform for entire team with continuous reviews of associates strengths, opportunities, and development needs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and direction to all credit levels within Region or Division. This position will supervise approximately 7 ( plus ) credit employees.
  • Review staffing requirements and recommend needed changes, interview and select potential credit personnel, recommend changes in salary and status through P4P, including reclassifications, transfers, promotions, and separations.
  • Conducts continuous performance ( P4P ) reviews on direct reports through PX evaluations and one on one meetings.
  • Establishes and monitors standards of performance for all credit positions and provides regular feedback regarding performance and/or takes appropriate corrective action.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in core business related areas such as Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration and five plus years of credit management experience or ten or more years of management experience in credit or related field, with a major portion of this experience in the same or similar industry.
  • Self-motivated individual with excellent skill sets in problem solving, navigating ambiguity, business/financial acumen, propensity to lead, create and influence strategy, and build relationships and teams.
  • Possess advanced negotiation skills with demonstrated abilities in advanced levels of strategic planning and implementation for maximizing receivables performance.
  • Assure team and self complies with department and company policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates leadership behaviors through motivating others, leading by example and by pursuing an active role in department/corporate activities.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to enter information using a computer keyboard continuously throughout the work period.
  • Ability to review computer monitor continuously throughout the work period.
  • Visually read and analyze reports and financial information.

Working Conditions:
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends as required.
  • Occasional travel which may include air travel, driving and/or riding long distances each day.

Training Requirements:
  • Participate in appropriate Quality training.
  • Participate in standard training requirements as outlined for Financial Services Department.
