Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to support our governmental client in Southeastern, Wisconsin. We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Senior Financial Analyst to support financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and operational analysis within a mission-driven organization. This role partners closely with leadership to provide financial insights that support organizational objectives, operational efficiency, and long-term planning initiatives.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting and financial analysis, with the ability to interpret complex financial information, identify trends and variances, develop forecasts, and provide actionable recommendations to leadership teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities for assigned operational areas
  • Prepare and analyze financial, operational, and statistical reports to support strategic decision-making
  • Monitor operating budgets and investigate variances, trends, and cost drivers
  • Develop financial models, projections, and scenario analyses to support organizational initiatives
  • Support audit activities, financial reporting processes, and compliance with accounting policies and standards
  • Evaluate the financial impact of operational changes, programs, and business initiatives
  • Partner cross-functionally with operational and executive leadership to improve financial performance and processes
  • Assist with financial systems support, reporting enhancements, and process improvement initiatives
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, concise insights for both financial and non-financial stakeholders


Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive financial analysis and/or accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and GAAP principles
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Experience working with large data sets, financial systems, and reporting tools
  • Strong Excel and financial modeling capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence decision-making

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting operational or program-based environments
  • Background in public sector, healthcare, nonprofit, or highly regulated industries is a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems and business intelligence/reporting tools preferred
