Role Summary

If you are an analytically minded individual who enjoys both financial analysis and operational ownership of recurring commission processes, this role will be ideal for you!
As our Financial Analyst & Commission Specialist, you will support the CFO and leadership team by developing, maintaining, and analyzing financial models, reports, dashboards, and sales commission calculations used to evaluate business performance and support operational decision-making.

In this role you will be responsible for the accurate and timely administration of sales commissions, including maintaining commission models, validating data inputs, reconciling calculations, and supporting management reporting. 

You will also assist with forecasting, KPI reporting, borrowing base reporting, automation initiatives, and ad hoc financial analysis.

The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to manage recurring processes with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.


**This role is onsite in our offices in Irvine, CA.**


Essential Functions

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models, analyses, schedules, and dashboards to support performance evaluation and forecasting. 
  • Prepare and administer recurring sales commission calculations accurately and timely. 
  • Review commission data for completeness and accuracy, including validation of sales, margins, adjustments, allocations, and overrides. 
  • Reconcile commission calculations to supporting financial and operational reports. 
  • Assist management with commission reporting, payout analysis, and sales performance metrics. 
  • Maintain and improve commission tracking models and automated workflows. 
  • Investigate and resolve commission disputes, discrepancies, and calculation issues. 
  • Collaborate with sales leadership, finance, and operations teams regarding commission structures and reporting requirements. 
  • Prepare financial reports and documentation required for daily borrowing base submissions. 
  • Review and analyze financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules. 
  • Assist with financial forecasting, scenario analysis, and trend analysis. 
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including DPO, DSO, DIO, sales productivity metrics, and cash flow forecasts. 
  • Support budgeting processes and develop an understanding of key business drivers. 
  • Design and implement workflows and automations to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors. 
  • Maintain assigned datasets; identify discrepancies, research root causes, and recommend corrective actions. 
  • Ensure continuity and accuracy of automated workflows and recurring reports. 
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to financial systems and platforms (e.g., Sage, BizNet, commission tracking systems, Excel models, databases).

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including: Pivot tables, XLOOKUPs, INDEX/MATCH, Nested formulas, Data validation

  • Proficient in reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms. 
  • Ability and drive to learn new systems and technologies. 
  • Understanding of how to review and self-validate work products for accuracy and validity of assumptions. 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience and Physical Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field. 
  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, commissions administration, sales operations, or related analytical role preferred. 
  • Experience working with large Excel-based datasets and recurring reporting processes required. 
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools preferred. 
  • Experience with commission systems or sales compensation administration is a plus.
