Minimum Annual Salary $43,000 Salary Band: S03 Job Summary/Basic Function:
Assists with the implementation and delivery of financial aid to students. This includes managing and reviewing professional judgment appeals, processing loans, and completing and auditing FAFSA verification processes. Adheres to all federal, state, and, institutional regulations while promoting student-friendly policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and one year of relevant work experience (i.e., financial aid, accounting, bookkeeping, budget management, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and one year of financial aid experience.
- Excellent computer and technology skills.
- Experience working under regulatory guidelines.
Essential Functions and percent of time:
Essential Function (Processing and Program Management - 75%)
- Review professional judgment appeals (SAP, FAFSA, Dependency, UY, and consortium).
- Complete FAFSA verification.
- Resolve conflicting information.
- Audit accuracy of student financial aid data relating to FAFSA verification, and professional judgment.
- Manage and execute alternative and campus-based loan processes, policies, and procedures.
- Process release of information requests within FERPA and record retention policies.
- Initiate process and policy changes when needed.
- Work with the management team to assess risks and internal controls by identifying areas of non-compliance.
- Review federal guidelines for all financial aid related professional judgment and verification topics on at least an annual basis.
- Provide updated training to functional and customer service staff.
Essential Function (Communication and Customer Relationships- 15%)
- Investigate complaints and resolve problems.
- Provide financial aid assistance to RaiderConnect.
- Monitor and respond to general office emails.
- Assist students through written and oral communication.

- Represent the department, division, or university on various committees internal and external to the university.
- Handle special projects as assigned.
