WORK LOCATION, SCHEDULE & TRAVEL

  • This position will be located at GPC Headquarters in Atlanta, GA.

  • Hybrid work schedule (both in-office and telecommute); currently four (4) days in-office and one (1) day telecommute.

  • This position will require some travel (up to 25%) and the ability to work successfully in a remote/virtual environment with access to internet service. 

JOB SUMMARY   

The Power Delivery Governance Analyst is responsible for Power Delivery portfolio capital governance across the state of Georgia during a time of substantial growth. This role is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and supporting governance documents and processes across the organization's capital portfolio. This position provides support for Power Delivery and coordinates with AFT, project controls, and project management to ensure transparency, accountability and consistency.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • Collaborate with partners to ensure consistent application of governance across capital projects and programs
  • Implement process improvements using tools and technology to work more efficiently 
  • Collaborate with internal partners and other members of the Power Delivery team to develop and maintain reports, financial risk analyses, and governing documentation ensuring data accurately reflect each program 
  • Define and maintain policies, standards, and procedures for capital project lifecycle management
  • Drive continuous improvement of governance processes and standards based on lessons learned and performance data
  • Mange systems and tools to ensure alignment of capital portfolio with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with project controls and project management to ensure reliable and accurate cost, schedule and risk data, as well as standardized reporting across the portfolio
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements
  • Support audits and regulatory filings related to capital investments
  • Drive accountability for project governance through governance structures and processes
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with Power Delivery Leadership, Transmission Project Management Organization, Distribution Project Controls, Distribution Portfolio Management and Project Shared Services 
  • Support after-hours storm restoration efforts as needed  

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • 4-year accredited BS/BA Degree OR experience in Finance or Project Management preferred  
  • Strong computer skills and a minimum of 2 years' experience using data analysis tools preferred
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating across multiple organizations to achieve effective outcomes, regardless of the reporting relationship

Experience: 

  • Mapping workflow and creating process improvements to current programs 
  • Developing management-level presentations, communications, and reports  
  • Prior work in one or more of the following areas: renewables, budgeting, pricing & rates, energy efficiency, finance, economic evaluations, marketing/sales, compliance, Power Delivery, or regulatory programs preferred
  • Working with management-level reports including demonstrated proficiency with Georgia Power financial applications preferred

  •  Excellent communications skills (verbal, written, and visual/graphical); ability to effectively develop and summarize reports for internal and external communication 
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and prioritize work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to make recommendations to management based on financial trends and projections 
  • Strong understanding of processes and attention to detail to minimize risk and financial exposure 
  • Proficiency in documentation and information retrieval to facilitate report generation and accessing historical reports
