Job Summary:

Theย Assistant Football Coach:ย Wide Receivers Coach & Passing Game Coordinatorย serves as a key member of the footballย program andย assistsย the Head Coach in all aspects ofย operatingย a successful NCAA Division II program.ย Under the direction of the Head Coach, theย Wide Receivers Coach & Passing Game Coordinatorย is responsible forplanning, implementing, and overseeing the team'sย passing gameย strategy. This role includes designingย offensiveย schemes, analyzing opponents, coachingย wide receivers, and working closely with theย Headย Coach and other staff to achieve team goals.ย ย 

Responsibilities include recruiting, player development, academic monitoring, game preparation, practice planning, scouting, compliance, and administrative duties while supporting the mission and values of the institution and the athletic department.ย 

Essential Job Functions:

Coaching & Player Developmentย 

  • Develop and implementย offensiveย plans and strategiesย as they relate to the passing game.ย ย 
  • Coach and mentorย wide receiversย to improve individual and team performance.ย ย 
  • Analyze game films to evaluate team performance and scout opponents.ย ย 
  • Design practice drills focused on techniques and fundamentals.ย ย 
  • Make in-game adjustments based onย opponent'sย tendencies.ย 

Recruitingย 

  • Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes who align with the institutionโ€™s academic and athletic standards.ย 
  • Build andย maintainย relationships with high school, prep school, junior college, andย otherย coaches.ย 
  • Help to coordinate campus visits andย recruitingย communications.ย 
  • Utilize recruiting databases, film evaluation, and scouting software effectively.ย 

Academic Support & Student-Athlete Welfareย 

  • Monitor academic progress and promote student-athlete success toward graduation.ย 
  • Collaborate with academic support staff to ensure eligibility and retention.ย 
  • Serve as a mentor and positive role model for student athletes.ย 
  • Promote leadership, discipline, accountability, and sportsmanship within the program.ย 

Administrative Responsibilitiesย 

  • Assistย with scheduling, travel coordination, budgeting, equipment management, and camp operations.ย 
  • Help toย coordinate film exchange, scouting reports, analytics, and opponent preparation.ย 
  • Manage social media or program branding initiatives as assigned.ย 
  • Assistย with fundraising, alumni engagement, and community outreach initiatives.ย 

Complianceย 

  • Ensure full compliance with NCAA Division II, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.ย 
  • Participate in compliance education andย maintainย accurateย recruiting and program documentation.ย 
  • Promote a culture of integrity and accountability within the program.ย

Minimum Job Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelorโ€™s degreeย from an accredited college or university.ย 
  • Previousfootball coaching experience.ย 
  • Valid driverโ€™s license with the ability to be approved toย operateย university-issued vehicles.ย 
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.ย 
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel asย required.ย 
  • Commitment to student-athlete development, academic achievement, and program culture.ย 

Preferred Qualificationsย 

  • Collegiate coaching or playing experience, particularlyย with wide receiver positions.ย ย 
  • Knowledge ofย offensiveย football schemes, techniques, and game management.ย ย 
  • Experience with player development and skill instruction.ย 
  • Recruiting experience and knowledge of NCAA Division II regulations.ย 
  • Strength and conditioning experience or background in athletic performance training.ย ย 

Certification Requirementsย 

  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certification preferred orย requiredย upon hire.ย

The work environment is an athletic and office setting which requires the ability to travel much of the time, work
