AMC Global Media is home to many of the greatest stories and characters in TV and film and the premier destination for passionate and engaged fan communities around the world.
We create and curate celebrated series and films across distinct brands and make them available to audiences everywhere. Our portfolio includes targeted streaming services AMC+, Acorn TV, Shudder, Sundance Now, ALLBLK and HIDIVE; cable networks AMC, BBC AMERICA, Independent Film Company, Sundance TV and We TV; and film distribution labels Independent Film Company and RLJE Films. The company also operates AMC Studios, our in-house studio, production, and distribution operation behind acclaimed and fan-favorite originals including The Walking Dead Universe and the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, and AMC Networks International, our international programming business.
We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team based in our New York, NY location.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Preparation of journal entries in conformity with established procedures.
  • Prepare and review analysis of various balance sheet and P&L accounts.
  • Review disbursements, i.e. vendor payment requests to ensure proper coding, authorization and budgetary approval and adherence to Company policy.
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual financial reporting schedules.
  • Coordinate preparation of requested data for internal and external auditors.
  • Research accounting issues as requested.
  • Assist in various other accounting related projects as assigned.
  • Special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred)
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Strong accounting and analytical abilities
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to work well and excel under tight deadlines and periods of high volume
  • Ability to establish relationships with business partners.
  • Technical/Functional Competencies
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Minimum 0-2 years accounting experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience with Excel
  • Ability to multitask and follow up
  • Must have strong academic credentials

The base compensation for this position is $70,000 - $75,000 commensurate with experience.
