General Summary:
The DI File Room Assistant works under the direction of the Diagnostic Imaging Informatics Supervisor.The Health Information Assistant is involved in many different areas pertaining to the medical record process. Using guidelines in accordance with hospital policy, the DI File Room Assistant performs duties for the implementation of an efficient health information system for the Bayhealth Medical Center.
Responsibilities:
1. Retrieves records from the Pictorial Archival Communication System (PACS) and outside facilities and or imaging clouds for continuing care purposes such as comparison imaging and surgical cases, committee meetings, research purposes, and audits as requested. Delivers digital imaging records to requested areas within the hospital by pushing or pulling from various cloud base PACS.
2. Assembles and analyzes Imaging medical records for completion of patient demographics to eliminate deficiencies by updating the patients imaging medical record when obtaining outside images.
3. To collect all pertinent digital images when patients, physician offices and lawyers request release of information to outside facilities by way of cloud transfer or hard copy CD's or DVD. Printing and release hard copies of final imaging reports to patients and offices that are not Bayhealth affiliated.
4. Retrieves and matches transcription to imported digital imaging records to expedite the coding and completion of the medical chart process for outside images uploaded into PACS.
5. Reviews all systems to verify electronic final reports for all imaging cases are released to the appropriate location.
6. Assists physicians and other hospital personnel with understanding the PACS cloud systems and how to obtain or transfer images for special imaging cases performed for surgical mapping and or implant design.
7. All other duties as assigned, within the scope and range of job responsibilities
