Job description

Position Summary:

The Legal Assistant will serve as the first point of contact for clients and visitors, ensuring a professional and courteous experience at all times. In addition to front desk duties, the assistant will support attorneys and staff with file organization, document preparation, and case file maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet clients and visitors warmly and professionally

  • Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and manage voicemail

  • Schedule appointments and maintain the firm’s calendar

  • Open, scan, and distribute incoming mail

  • Maintain and organize both physical and electronic legal files

  • Assist attorneys with file preparation and case organization

  • Perform light data entry and document formatting tasks

  • Ensure front office and reception areas remain tidy and well-stocked

  • Handle other administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a law office, receptionist, or administrative role preferred

  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional legal or administrative training is a plus
