Legal Assistant / E-Filing Specialist

Entry-Level Opportunity with a New Jersey Creditors’ Rights Law Firm

A well-established New Jersey creditors’ rights law firm is seeking a Legal Assistant / E-Filing Specialist to join its legal team.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who is organized, dependable, comfortable with technology, and interested in building a career in the legal field. Prior law firm experience is helpful, but not required. Training will be provided.

The position offers direct exposure to legal documents, court filing procedures, case management systems, and the day-to-day operations of a busy law firm.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit legal documents through New Jersey electronic court filing systems
  • Review documents for accuracy, completeness, signatures, formatting, and proper filing information
  • Confirm that documents are filed under the correct case and document type
  • Monitor filing confirmations, rejections, and court notices
  • Correct and resubmit rejected filings when necessary
  • Save filed documents and confirmations in the firm’s case management system
  • Update case records, deadlines, and internal notes
  • Communicate with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff regarding filing issues
  • Assist with document preparation and other legal support responsibilities
