Job description

Description
Cary Estate Planning, an estate planning and estate administration law firm, is seeking a Part-Time Legal Administrative Assistant (Probate and Estate Planning) to join our team. This is an in-office position in our Cary office for 20-30 hours per week, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in the legal field while supporting our Probate and Estate Planning teams.
Our ideal candidate enjoys staying organized, takes pride in producing accurate work, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves to help wherever needed. They understand that while scanning documents, preparing mail, organizing files, and assembling client packets may not always be glamorous, these tasks are essential to providing exceptional service to clients and keeping our legal team moving forward.
Prior probate, estate administration, or estate planning experience is a plus, but it is not required - we are happy to train the right person who is eager to learn.
We are looking for a team member who embodies our Core Values: Client-First, Teamwork, Integrity, and Authenticity.
Responsibilities
• Sort, scan, and distribute incoming mail, and communicate received mail with the legal team through Slack.
• Prepare outgoing mail, including certified mail and other legal correspondence.
• Assist attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants with administrative tasks for probate and estate planning matters.
• Serve as a witness during estate planning signing appointments when needed
• Scan, save, and accurately organize electronic client documents and files.
• Assist with opening new client matters and maintaining organized physical and electronic files.
• Prepare client packets, correspondence, and other documents as needed.
• Maintain an organized, professional office environment.
• Provide general administrative support to the Probate and Estate Planning teams.
Qualifications
• Professional, dependable, and client-focused demeanor.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable using computers for document management, downloading, saving, organizing, and naming files.
• Proficiency with office equipment, including scanners, copiers, and postage machines.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn new software and legal processes.
• Prior administrative experience is preferred.
