Sr. Programmer/Analyst

Sacramento, CA

12+ months

Required Skills:

Need qualified programmer/analyst with a minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in Adaptable Database System (ADABAS)/Natural programming and ADABAS Database Administrator (DBA) skills set.

Must be proficient using Job Control Language (JCL) within the ISPF/TSO interface.

ADABAS DBA using Software AG tools and Natural toolkit,

ADABAS/NATURAL programming

z/OS and/or MVS Operating System.

IBM mainframe utilities (e.g., IDCAMS, IEBGENER, SYNCSORT, FTP, etc.)

TSO/ISPF and JCL.

Flat file processing

SDLC and testing methodology.

Microsoft Office Products (e.g., Excel, Visio, Power Point, Word, etc.)

IBM PD Tools (e.g., Debug, File Manager, Fault Analyzer).

File-Aid and Xpediter can be included in experience level.

Bachelor's Degree in computer Science or Engineering

Responsibilities:

1. Support a large-scale ADABAS/NATURAL legacy system.

2. Conduct analysis as required to accomplish the coding assignments.

3. Provide ADABAS DBA expertise.

4. Document program, data flow, and related processes.

5. Test modifications using debug tools.

6. Work with file manipulation tools.

7. Work with business customers to help with requirements definitions.

8. Work with business customers to explain the achieved solution.

9. Provide system knowledge, expertise, and related additional deliverables as needed.
