Job description

SUPERINTENDENT - Fire Alarm
JOB SUMMARY
Our Superintendents work in the field to perform installations of fire alarm and clean agent/special hazard suppression systems. They serve as a lead on the job site for other ORR Protection technicians and subcontractors and are critical to the quality work and customer service ORR is known for. Must be located in or around the Secaucus,NJ area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • All team members must embody the company mission to provide protection for people, property, and the environment in all aspects of their job.
  • Perform installations of fire alarm and clean agent/special hazard suppression systems according to ORR work instructions and applicable codes.
  • Take a lead role at customer sites, providing oversight and direction to other ORR technicians or sub-contractors.
  • Work with the Project Manager and Install Coordinator to keep the customer informed on job progress.
  • Complete all necessary job-related paperwork for compliance and documentation.
  • Respond to emergency service requests and take appropriate action.
  • Perform in depth trouble shooting, repair and replacement of system equipment.
  • Conduct training with customer on the functionality of the fire system.
  • Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Five years’ experience in service and/or installation of fire alarm or special hazard fire suppression systems, required.
  • Experience reading blue prints, required.
  • Fire alarm programming experience, required.
  • FASA/BASA license, preferred
  • Associate degree in electronics or related field, preferred.
  • NICET (Fire Alarm / Special Hazard) certification, preferred.
  • Experience with the following manufacturers: Kidde, Fenwal, Notifier, Fike, FCI, preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Experience with intelligent fire control panel programming software.
  • Knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft and standard internet usage.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized and detail-orientated.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to lead a team effectively.
  • Demonstrated customer service mindset.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • This is a remote position that would be deployed from the associate’s home to local job sites for installs, service, or repairs.
  • Company vehicle, tools, technology, and equipment provided.
  • Occasional on-call days and/or overtime required for unscheduled service needs.
  • Job duties require the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and crawl into tight or awkward places.
  • Overnight travel required up to 25% of the time.
