Job description

Field Service Technician (Houston Area)
Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment, has an opportunity for an Field Service Technician 1 (Houston Area) position. Fike is a privately held business located in Blue Springs, MO with over 400 employees locally & over 1,200 employees worldwide.
Job Summary:
Entry level position emphasized on learning and development while working towards providing highly skilled electrical and mechanical support on maintenance and troubleshooting of Fike's Explosion Protection (EP) systems. Under close supervision and guidance, works towards providing onsite customer service and support for the maintenance services in varying conditions ranging from -50 below zero to +120 degrees Fahrenheit in ever changing surroundings from coal dust to sterile pharmaceutical conditions. Travels 65 - 75% of the time, primarily domestic.
Primary Responsibilities:

2. Assists with many projects relating to Fike supplied equipment.
3. Assists with job site problem analysis.
4. Along with team member(s), travels to various facilities, nationwide, as required.
5. Learns emergency rebuild, routine service, and troubleshoots problems at job sites.
6. Complies with Fike expense policy and provides weekly reports for customer billing and expense reimbursement.
7. Along with team members(s), participates in emergency/after-hours trips requiring immediate attention to meet customer schedules.
8. Learns knowledge of Fike systems and applications to assist in problem solving to both internal and external customers.
9. Documents issues and findings and communicates effectively to required groups.
10. Ensures resources comply with all customer safety requirements.
11. Provides customer service in accordance with company policies, procedures and ISO-9001 requirements.
12. Maintains the confidentiality of all information processed.
13. Utilizes Fike's electronic field service platform to prepare reports on work performed and document all pertinent information.
14. Learns to operate lift equipment safely, including working at heights, and obtaining man lift certification as requested.
15. Completes in person and on-line safety training.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, hear, see, sit and, use hands. Must be able to lift more than 75 pounds without the aid of equipment, climb ladders, and work in difficult situations such as elevated heights, off of man lifts, scaffolding, tight spaces, and ever changing environments. Must be able to travel for consecutive days.
Job Qualifications:
REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent. Mechanical or electrical aptitude. Solid verbal and written communication skills needed to accurately describe problems and communicate with customers. Valid driver's license. Must be able to obtain a Passport. Basic knowledge of Windows and/or Google Suite.
PREFERRED: Associate'sdegree in engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic understanding of NFPA standards and other related code requirements. Experience in computer and/or security networking. Previous field service experience for an industrial product.
Compensation: The pay range for this position is $19.90 to $23.38 per hour. May increase depending on the level of experience of the candidate.
