Fieldglass is not a job title, but rather a Vendor Management System (VMS) software widely used for managing external workforce and services procurement. Professionals who use Fieldglass, such as Vendor Management Specialists or Contingent Workforce Program Managers, require proficiency with the Fieldglass platform, as well as skills in procurement, contract management, and data analysis. Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills are essential for success in these roles. Mastery in these areas ensures effective management of external labor, compliance, and cost optimization for organizations.

What is a Fieldglass job?

A Fieldglass job refers to a temporary or contingent workforce position managed through SAP Fieldglass, a cloud-based vendor management system (VMS). Companies use Fieldglass to source, manage, and track external labor, such as contractors or freelancers. This system helps businesses streamline workforce procurement, ensure compliance, and optimize costs. A Fieldglass job typically involves contract-based work rather than full-time employment.

What are the typical responsibilities of someone managing Fieldglass within an organization?

Professionals responsible for managing Fieldglass are typically tasked with overseeing the end-to-end contingent workforce or services procurement processes, ensuring compliance with company policies, and maintaining accurate record-keeping. Daily tasks may include onboarding external vendors, monitoring timesheets, processing invoices, and generating reports on workforce utilization and spend. Collaboration is common with HR, procurement, and hiring managers to align staffing needs and project requirements. The role involves troubleshooting user issues and providing training or support to other team members as needed. Success in this position can open opportunities for advancement into broader vendor management or procurement leadership roles.
