Job description

Field Service Technician
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Field Service Technician to provide technical support and service for over-capper packaging machinery and conveyor systems. This role involves frequent travel to diagnose, repair, maintain, and commission equipment while delivering excellent customer support. Traveling is required.

Pay Rate
$30.00 – 45.00 per hour

Schedule and Hours
Monday to Saturday
10-12 hour shifts, flexible weekends and constant traveling required.

Field Service Technician Duties and Responsibilities
Install, commission, maintain, and repair packaging equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems (ladder logic)
Read schematics and perform system adjustments as needed
Train customer teams on operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Document service work and report unresolved issues
Manage travel logistics, tools, expenses, and service reports
Support shop operations and equipment assembly when required

Field Service Technician Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum 2+ years of field service experience
  • Basic PLC programming knowledge
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions
  • Solid organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to climb, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
