Brief Role Description

The Field Services Network Manager is accountable for the performance and consistency of operations across the Field Services network. This role ensures service delivery is executable, standardized, and supported by effective operating systems while executing network operating standards with consistency and discipline. The role drives performance through manager-level leaders and integrates operational, commercial, and technology efforts to deliver reliable and efficient service outcomes.

Areas of Accountability Field Operations Performance & Execution
  • Owns network performance for Field Service operations by executing and reinforcing operating standards, performance management systems, and execution discipline across the Field Services network.
  • Drives consistent execution of field service work against planned service schedules through manager-level leaders, ensuring customer commitments are met and operational risks are addressed proactively.
  • Owns the management system for reviewing, analyzing, and improving key service performance indicators including productivity, utilization, service levels, labor efficiency, cost-to-serve, and first-time fix.
  • Builds managerial leadership capability by coaching managers, reinforcing Managerial Leadership Practices, establishing performance expectations, and developing leaders who effectively lead teams and deliver results.
  • Ensures managers conduct effective performance reviews, problem-solving routines, coaching discussions, and accountability processes that sustain execution discipline.
Standardization & Operational Excellence
  • Leads implementation of field service processes, operating rhythms, and operational initiatives across the Field Services network to drive consistent and standardized execution.
  • Establishes and reinforces common operating practices, tools, and routines that reduce variability and improve service reliability across locations.
  • Ensures safety, compliance, and quality expectations are embedded into field operations through standard work, leadership routines, and performance management systems.
  • Identifies recurring execution gaps and partners with network leaders to improve process adherence, operational consistency, and customer outcomes.
  • Drives continuous improvement efforts that improve service reliability, labor effectiveness, operational efficiency, and customer value.
Operational Systems & Performance Visibility
  • Ensures field service technologies, reporting systems, and operational data are effectively utilized to improve network performance and decision-making.
  • Provides operational guidance on technology priorities, system enhancements, reporting visibility, and deployment efforts to improve service reliability, utilization, productivity, and execution consistency across the network.
  • Ensures operational insights are translated into management actions that improve customer service, workforce effectiveness, and business performance.
Cross-Functional Alignment & Service Readiness
  • Serves as the Field Services representative in cross-functional planning and decision-making processes involving Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Dispatch, Technology, and other key business partners.
  • Provides operational guidance regarding service capacity, labor requirements, operational feasibility, and cost-to-serve assumptions associated with customer commitments, pricing strategies, and business opportunities.
  • Works through established cross-functional working relationships to identify, communicate, and resolve constraints impacting field execution and customer service performance.
  • Escalates operational risks and network constraints that cannot be resolved within Field Services, ensuring issues receive appropriate visibility, prioritization, and support.
  • Partners with cross-functional leaders to improve service readiness, execution capability, and alignment between customer expectations and operational delivery.
  • Ensures operational considerations are incorporated into business decisions that impact service execution, customer outcomes, and network performance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in field service operations or service delivery, including experience leading, coaching, and developing managers within a distributed or field-based environment.
  • Demonstrated success building managerial leadership capability through coaching, performance management, leadership development, and succession planning.
  • Strong experience managing service KPIs and performance systems including productivity, utilization, service levels, labor efficiency, cost-to-serve, and operational improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive standardization, process adherence, and operational consistency across multiple sites, regions, or service territories.
  • Experience working cross-functionally through advisory, escalation, and partnership models to support service delivery execution across Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Dispatch, and Technology functions.
  • Experience using field service technologies, dispatch systems, reporting platforms, and performance management tools to support operational decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, coaching, and leadership development skills.
  • Willingness to travel 50%+.
