Position Summary: Hanwha Vision America (HVA), an affiliate of the Hanwha Group, a Fortune Global 500 company, is an industry-leading provider of advanced network video surveillance products. These include IP cameras, storage devices, and video management systems founded on world-class technologies. We offer end-to-end security solutions and have achieved global success across a wide range of industry verticals, including transportation, education, retail, banking, healthcare, hospitality, airports, utilities, and critical infrastructure.

Hanwha Vision America (HVA) is seeking a Field Application Engineer who is responsible for providing accurate specification interpretations that drive the technical evaluation portion of the sales process. This position requires the candidate to maintain contacts with all of Hanwha Vision America’s salespersons, dealers, consultants, and end users within the region of responsibility. Main responsibility will be to work with each salesperson and support their opportunities in a technical capacity to secure the sales. This would include technical presentations, review of Hanwha system tools and device managers, training of technicians on best practices, review of specifications or RFPs, and providing cross-over BOMs of competitors’ bids.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Sales Technical Support: Lead all pre-sales activities within the territory, focusing on Hanwha Vision America solutions. Collaborate with sales teams to support end-user opportunities from a technical perspective.
  • System Design & Integration: Execute comprehensive system designs, including site surveys, equipment placement, area coverage calculations, bandwidth and storage calculations, BOM creation, schematic drawings, and third-party product integration.
  • Customer Engagement: Serve as the first-line technical resource for key accounts, demonstrating Hanwha Vision’s video products to integrators, consultants, engineers, and end users.
  • Training & Presentations: Conduct technology and customer-specific training sessions on Hanwha Vision America’s products and solutions. Provide sales presentations to key stakeholders.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work seamlessly across multiple departments to meet performance goals and exceed customer expectations.
  • Technical Escalations: Assist with the escalation of technical issues and special customer requests. Provide feedback on product and system-related issues to the technical support team.
  • Industry Representation: Represent Hanwha Vision America at industry trade shows and events as needed.
  • Reporting: Provide weekly updates on sales activities, highlighting areas for improvement to enhance business opportunities.
  • Travel Requirements: Regional and national travel up to 70% may be required, with occasional short-notice trips.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in a customer-facing pre-sales role, preferably within the network video or physical security markets.
  • Certified Security Product Professional (e.g., Hanwha WAVE, Genetec, Milestone) is preferred.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to articulate complex solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with system design, product testing, and proof of concept development for complex systems.

Physical Demands:

  • Occasionally required to lift 20-40 lbs.
  • Ability to climb and stand on ladders or lifts for extended periods.
  • Comfort working at heights.
