• What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will contribute to enhancing the research and development capacity of the US Fire Administration Research Branch to address the needs of State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial (SLTT) governments in preparedness, resilience, and response strategies.Typical assignments include: Designing and implementing research projects related to the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI), fire service technology, all-hazards incident management, firefighter health and safety, and fire operations. Analyze and research innovative technology solutions to support fire service operations and improve resilience and response capabilities. Coordinating with internal and external subject matter experts, stakeholders, and partner agencies to identify emerging challenges and collaboratively address them through applied research. Monitoring progress, analyzing findings, and evaluating the impact of research initiatives on SLTT government preparedness and response. Providing expert guidance and recommendations to leadership on research priorities, program objectives, and strategies to support fire service needs. What else do I need to know?
