Job description

Join Dove Healthcare as an MDS Coordinator - Infection Control and take the next step in your career.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Registered Nurse (RN) to serve in a dual role as MDS Coordinator and Infection Control Nurse. This position is responsible for coordinating the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process to ensure accurate and timely completion of MDS assessments, while also leading the facility's infection prevention and control program in accordance with federal and state regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

MDS / RAI Coordination:

  • Coordinate and complete MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments in accordance with OBRA and PPS guidelines

  • Maintain accurate and timely RAI/PPS schedules

  • Ensure documentation supports Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance reimbursement

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to gather and validate resident data

  • Monitor compliance with state and federal regulations related to documentation and assessments

  • Participate in care plan development and updates

Infection Control:

  • Lead and manage the facility's infection prevention and control program

  • Conduct ongoing surveillance of infections and antibiotic use

  • Manage and respond to infectious outbreaks, including implementation of control measures

  • Coordinate annual influenza vaccination program and TB risk assessments

  • Ensure compliance with infection control standards from regulatory agencies

  • Educate and train staff on infection prevention practices, including PPE and hand hygiene

  • Perform audits and implement quality improvement initiatives

  • Communicate updates on infection control guidelines and regulatory changes to staff

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Wisconsin

  • Previous experience with MDS/RAI coordination preferred

  • Knowledge of infection control practices and regulations

  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MDS certification (RAC-CT)

  • Infection Preventionist training or certification (IP, CIC, or equivalent)

  • Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facility
