KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Must be a current, permanent FBI employee
• Must be able to obtain an SCI clearance
• Some travel will be required (25% CONUS)
• Selectee will be required to complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450 annually
• Selectee will be required to complete form FD-887, Request for Access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work requires some strenuous physical exertion such as climbing tall ladders or towers, lifting heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds, and crouching or crawling in small work areas.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Spends time in work situations which exposes the incumbent to potentially hazardous situations. These include electrical shocks, falls from high towers, extreme weather conditions (rain, snow, ice, or high winds), and similar situations. Safety precautions are required, including accompaniment by Special Agents or other technicians when performing duties considered hazardous to life and limb. Protective clothing and gear as well as observance of safety procedures are required. Must work under conditions of extreme stress and tension as a result of need to maintain equipment in optimum working condition. Travel is required.
MAJOR DUTIES

• Provides guidance/direction and/or instructs personnel within an organization, business or other agency.
• Plans and manages the design, development, delivery, and support of a broad range of telecommunications systems that support agency operations and the accomplishment of highly specialized inter-agency communications requirements.
• Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with management, other Telecommunications Managers, Telecommunications Specialists and Information Technology Specialists involved in related activities. Ensures coordination of efforts and sharing of information and resources where possible.
• Directs a subordinate workforce requiring planning and coordination of activities assignment of tasks to project participants, estimation and allocation of resources, monitoring and review of project efforts. Resolves problems and is responsible for the delivery of products and services according to plans and requirements.
• Monitors deployed systems to ensure that they operate according to specifications and meet requirements. Fine tunes operating characteristics as determined to be necessary. Oversees preventative maintenance and repairs as needed. Diagnoses and troubleshoots problems involving all aspects of system operations.

Specialized Experience (SE)
GS-14: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-13 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

• Experience in management principles and methods to effectively lead a technically diverse group of direct subordinates through complex communications systems installation and maintenance in accomplishing the organization's mission.
• Experience in engineering, planning, training, procurement, testing, evaluation, installation, and maintenance of radio program related future technology solutions.
• Experience in the integration of advanced IT equipment and legacy equipment which increase efficiency and productivity Bureau wide.
• Experience in theory, design characteristics, operations and functions of highly technical equipment.
• Experience testing and implementing commercial "off-the-shelf" technical equipment and devices and integrating them into operations to increase functionality, while concurrently decreasing financial obligations.

Desired Skills
Desired skills are NOT mandatory and will NOT be utilized to minimally qualify applicants.

• Experience in customer service and programs to deliver telecommunications/networking services that contribute to the customer mission.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
