Position Overview:
A growing national security company is seeking a Senior Cyber Capability Developer to directly support the FBI onsite in Chantilly, Virginia.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on the front lines of national security, developing cyber capabilities that help forensic examiners and incident responders investigate complex threats, analyze critical data, and respond to evolving operational requirements.
The developer will serve as a full-stack engineer, building and extending Python-based front-end and back-end capabilities that process the diverse data formats encountered during forensic investigations. Development priorities are driven by real-world operational needs, requiring adaptability, sound judgment, and the ability to rapidly deliver tools that expand the customer's investigative capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain full-stack applications using Python and Django on the back end and React and JavaScript on the front end
- Build tools and functionality that support FBI forensic analysis and investigative workflows
- Create processing capabilities for new data formats encountered during active investigations
- Develop scripts and modules that extend the functionality of an existing forensic toolkit
- Expand the use cases of existing cyber tools to address evolving operational requirements
- Containerize and deploy applications and services using Docker
- Write Bash and PowerShell automation scripts to support forensic data-processing pipelines
- Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases supporting forensic data storage and retrieval
- Work closely with forensic examiners and incident responders to translate operational needs into technical development priorities
- Rapidly prototype, test, and deliver functional tools in a mission-driven environment
Required Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain a Counterintelligence Polygraph
- U.S. citizenship
- Bachelor's or master's degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience, associate degree with at least 11 years of relevant experience, or high school diploma with at least 14 years of relevant experience
- Full-stack development experience spanning front-end user interfaces and back-end services
- Experience developing applications with Python
- Ability to rapidly prototype and deliver reliable technical capabilities under operationally driven timelines
- Ability to work full-time onsite in Chantilly, Virginia
Desired Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with a CI Polygraph
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, cybersecurity, or a related field
- Experience with Django, React, JavaScript, Docker, PostgreSQL, Bash, and PowerShell
- Familiarity with SANS SIFT Workstation tools and forensic analysis workflows
- Experience with digital forensics tools and techniques, including disk imaging, memory analysis, and artifact parsing
- Understanding of incident response procedures and evidence handling in law enforcement or government environments
- Experience working across mixed vendor and platform environments, including commercial, government, and custom-developed tools
- Knowledge of forensic data formats such as E01 files, raw images, file-system artifacts, registry hives, and browser artifacts
