Job description

CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt

REPORTS TO: Loan Processing Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

Processes new loans and renewals from branches and verifies that loans are input correctly. Will also be responsible for processing mailed payments, file maintenance, making loan changes/updates, processing payoffs/history cards and answering questions by phone or email.

Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Processing mail daily (payments and payoffs).
  2. Process all types of loans and renewals within 48 hours of them being scanned.
  3. Review all type of loans and renewals within 7 days of processing for accuracy.
  4. Credit card processing including downloading reports, issue of new credit cards, post payments and adjustments, increase/decrease limits, add & delete holds, process charge-offs, research statements, add or update an external account (credit card) to Bankway and scan credit card documents.
  5. Releasing collateral on paid off loans, including proper mailing to customer or other institution.
    1. Release Titles
    2. Email Loan Officer/Loan Officer Assistant to release a Deed of Trust on a paid off loan.
  6. Enter tracking when a loan is processed
  7. Processing activations/history cards.
  8. Process File Maintenances and Holds.
  9. Process and review Auto Debits and Interest Extensions.
  10. Prepare, scan and release certain items both through Capture and PDF files.
  11. File notes and loan folders.
  12. Handle questions and requests on loan matters both by phone and e-mail.

Other Duties

  1. Other duties and tasks will be added as department needs grows or changes.

Skills/Abilities

  1. Highly organized, strong on follow up, and meticulous with details.
  2. Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  3. Professional written and verbal communications skills.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in an office setting, the opportunity to telework is not available. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Office environment with job duties conducted via telephone, face to face meetings, and on the computer.

Physical Demands

This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open cabinets. This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary.

Travel

Limited local travel may be required for this position.

Education and Experience

  1. Prior loan document experience preferred.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent required.
