We are seeking onโ€‘call Temporary Conformance Technicians to manipulate and edit audio, video and subtitle files to match client and vendor specifications for streaming platforms on an asโ€‘needed basis, sometimes with as little as one dayโ€™s notice. Great opportunity for someone who is a team-oriented, technically skilled, systems-oriented, and has an overall "Roll Up Your Sleeves" approach to troubleshooting. Day and swing shifts are available; please indicate if you have a preference. The ideal Conformance Technician will possess at least 2 years of experience working with various formats of digital video sources and encoding, including expertise in Digital Portal specs.ย 


Key Responsibilities

  • Quickly comprehend technical specifications and apply that understanding.ย 
  • Monitor andย prioritizeย a high volume and time sensitive order queue.ย 
  • Ensure source assets are restored andย conformed asย required.ย 
  • Validate video,ย audioย and timed text media assets against a variety of client and internal specifications.ย 
  • Communicate and document internal rejections to theย appropriate teams.ย 
  • Verify integrity of deliverables and delivery package prior to servicing.ย 
  • Maintain servicing action logs as neededย 
  • Succinctly and efficiently handoff projects with next-up shiftsย 
  • Operate with a high sense of urgency and discretionย 
  • Other tasks as needed to meet project deadlinesย 


Essential Qualifications / Competencies

  • Conforming audio, video, and subtitle/caption content to platform specifications (iTunes, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc.).ย 
  • High level understanding of subtitlingย specificationย and formats, audio sample rates, video frame rates, SMPTE timecode and traditional multichannel audio configurations (2.0, 5.1, 7.1, ATMOS).ย 
  • Understanding of industry format standards such as PAL, NTSC, timecode, framerate, codec, audio settings/configurations, Frame Rate Conversions, captions, subtitles, forced Narrative, SDHย 
  • Knowledge of post-production guidelines and workflows using tools such as Adobe Premiere Suite,ย Clipster,ย Transkoder, Cortex, Resolve, and various transcoding utilities such as Compressor, AME, Episodeย Pro.ย 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills andย theย ability toย communicate and collaborate withย other groups.ย 
  • Strong data entry and proofreading skills.ย 
  • Ability to work independently.ย 
  • Proficient with both Mac and PC operating systems.ย 
  • Comfortable with change and able to adapt asย neededย to meet the needs of our clients.ย ย
