Job description

The Programming Manager will support the day-to-day planning, scheduling, and programming operations for Fremantle’s Global Channels team during a 9-month leave coverage assignment.


Reporting to the VP, Programming, this role will assist in executing programming strategies, maintaining channel schedules, monitoring performance metrics, and coordinating programming initiatives across Fremantle’s portfolio of FAST channels and the BUZZR over-the-air (OTA) television network. The Programming Manager will serve as a key point of contact for scheduling communications and collaborate closely with Channel Operations, Marketing, Data, Creative Services, Distribution, and Global Content teams to ensure programming priorities are executed efficiently and effectively.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain day-to-day scheduling grids and content rollouts for BUZZR and Fremantle’s FAST channel portfolio
  • Support the VP, Programming in developing and executing programming strategies for BUZZR and FAST channels based on content availability, audience insights, and business priorities
  • Maintain and distribute weekly, monthly, and long-range programming schedules for BUZZR and FAST services
  • Collaborate with the data team to monitor programming performance, ratings, and audience engagement metrics, including BUZZR Nielsen ratings and FAST channel KPIS
  • Assist with implementing data-informed content strategies designed to increase audience engagement and viewing time across linear and streaming platforms
  • Track and manage programming inventory, partnering with Operations and Global Media Ops to identify available content and scheduling opportunities
  • Ideate and execute on curated programming stunts, marathons, themed events, and special scheduling initiatives for BUZZR and FAST channels
  • Support cross-functional teams with programming-related requests and operational needs


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of programming, scheduling, or content planning experience within a digital, streaming, FAST, broadcast, cable, or media organization
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Analytical mindset with experience utilizing audience and performance data to support programming decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented self-starter with strong time management skills
  • Passion for television, streaming, and digital media
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Word
  • Experience with scheduling and media planning systems preferred (e.g. WideOrbit, What’s On)
  • Familiarity with FAST channels and streaming ecosystems preferred
