Job description

Job Title: Short-Form Video Editor (Performance Marketing)

Role Overview:
We’re looking for a high-performance video editor who understands how to create engaging, scroll-stopping content designed to drive results, not just look good. This role focuses on editing short-form videos for paid ads and organic social, with a strong emphasis on retention, pacing, and conversion-driven storytelling.

Employment Type:
This role starts as a contractor position, paid on a per-video or per-project basis. Workload is flexible based on performance and output. There is a strong opportunity to transition into a full-time role within 30 to 60 days. Top performers who demonstrate speed, quality, and reliability will be prioritized for consistent work, increased compensation, and potential full-time employment. Full training will be provided.

Responsibilities:
Edit short-form videos for ads and social media (60 to 120 seconds)
Create multiple variations of each video with different hooks and pacing
Cut for retention by eliminating dead space and maintaining constant engagement
Add captions, sound effects, music, ai b-roll and light motion graphics
Incorporate B-roll and visual elements to reinforce key messaging
Follow proven frameworks for high-performing ad creatives
Work efficiently to meet daily output targets

Requirements:
Strong understanding of how to hook attention within the first 1 to 3 seconds
Ability to maintain high retention throughout the video
Understanding of the difference between aesthetic editing and performance editing
Basic understanding of direct response marketing principles
Experience editing for mobile-first formats, especially vertical 9:16 content

Tools:
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, and Canva is required

Preferred Qualifications:
