What is Fashion Week?

Fashion Week is a series of events where designers and fashion houses showcase their latest collections to buyers, the media, and the public. These events happen in major fashion capitals like New York, Paris, Milan, and London, typically twice a year for the spring/summer and fall/winter seasons. Fashion Week serves as a platform for setting trends, launching new designers, and connecting industry professionals. It includes runway shows, presentations, and parties, and plays a crucial role in shaping the direction of global fashion. Attendees often include celebrities, buyers, journalists, and influencers.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working during Fashion Week events?

Professionals working during Fashion Week often face fast-paced schedules, tight deadlines, and the need to quickly adapt to last-minute changes in show logistics or creative direction. Collaboration is crucial, as you'll frequently coordinate with designers, models, stylists, and production teams to ensure smooth execution. High-pressure environments and long hours are typical, but they provide valuable networking opportunities and hands-on experience that can accelerate career growth within the fashion industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Fashion Week Coordinator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Fashion Week Coordinator, you need strong event planning, organization, and knowledge of the fashion industry, often supported by a degree in fashion, marketing, or event management. Familiarity with tools like project management software, ticketing systems, and digital communication platforms is essential. Excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability, and the ability to work under pressure help you stand out in this role. These skills ensure seamless event execution, effective collaboration, and the ability to handle the fast-paced, high-profile nature of Fashion Week events.

Job description

Job Title:
Fashion Week Operations & Designer Relations Coordinator (In-Person, Full-Time)
aka: The Right Hand Behind the Runway
About the Role
We're looking for a highly organized, fast-moving, fashion-forward individual to step into a key support role within a growing, high-energy fashion company operating at the intersection of runway, luxury events, and global designer relations.
This is not your average assistant position. You will work directly alongside leadership, support designers participating in major fashion week productions, and play a key role in expanding our designer network.
If you thrive in fast-paced environments, love fashion, and are the type of person who figures it out before being asked - this is for you.
What You'll Be Doing
Executive Support
• Act as a direct assistant to leadership (day-to-day operations, organization, task management)
• Help keep projects, deadlines, and communications running smoothly
• Anticipate needs before they arise
Designer Support (Asana + Communication)
• Assist designers inside Asana with onboarding, questions, and task completion
• Ensure designers are meeting deadlines and submitting required materials
• Provide a polished, high-touch experience for all participating brands
Designer Outreach & Research
• Identify and source new designer brands for our sales team to contact
• Build and maintain organized outreach lists
• Stay on top of emerging designers, trends, and fashion industry movements
Operations & Coordination
• Help manage backend systems, task boards, and workflow organization
• Support internal teams with communication and follow-ups
• Assist with prep leading up to major fashion week events
Travel & Event Experience
• Travel may be required for Fashion Week events and key productions (NYC, LA, Miami, etc.)
• Assist on-site with designer coordination, backstage organization, and overall event execution
• Be part of the live, behind-the-scenes experience of high-level runway shows
Who You Are
• Extremely organized (like... borderline obsessed with systems)
• Proactive - you don't wait, you move
• Comfortable communicating professionally with designers and creatives
• Tech-savvy and quick to learn platforms (especially Asana or similar tools)
• Fashion-aware (you know designers, trends, or at least care to learn fast)
• Thrive in high-energy, fast-paced environments
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and solution-driven
Bonus Points If You:
• Have experience in fashion, events, or creative industries
• Have worked with CRMs, project management tools, or sales teams
• Have an eye for emerging brands or talent
• Love being "in the know" in fashion culture
Position Details
• Location: In-person (Easley, SC)
• Schedule: Full-Time
• Travel: Required at times for Fashion Week and special events
• Growth Potential: High - this role can evolve into leadership within operations, designer relations, or production
Why This Role is Different
• Work directly behind the scenes of major fashion week productions
• Opportunity to travel and be on-site at runway events
• Be part of a rapidly growing company in the fashion + events space
• Gain real industry access, not just "experience"
• Opportunity to grow with a brand that's scaling fast
How to Apply
Send your resume + a short video on why you'd be perfect for this role (personality matters!)
