What is a remote doll fashion designer?

A Remote Doll Fashion Designer is a creative professional who designs clothing and accessories for dolls, working from a location outside of a traditional studio or office, often from home. Their duties include sketching outfit ideas, selecting fabrics, creating patterns, and sometimes even sewing prototypes. They collaborate with toy companies, manufacturers, or independent clients to bring new fashion concepts to the doll market. Working remotely allows for flexible schedules and the ability to work with clients worldwide. This role requires a strong sense of style, attention to detail, and proficiency in design software or traditional illustration.

Remote Doll Fashion Designers often use digital tools to communicate effectively with manufacturers, pattern makers, and other designers. Regular video conferences, shared design platforms, and cloud-based project management systems are essential for discussing design concepts, providing feedback on prototypes, and ensuring production timelines are met. Job description

STORQ designs thoughtful, well-made essentials for pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood - and we're growing our design bench. We're looking for a freelance designer to help us build out tech packs and artwork across Accessories, Baby Sleep, and Toddler Apparel.

What you'll do
  • Create detailed tech sketches (flats) for new styles
  • Build measurement pages / spec sheets
  • Develop BOMs (Bill of Materials)
  • Create simple print/pattern designs
  • Prepare and upload clean Illustrator artwork files
What we're looking for
  • Experience with PLM systems
  • Strong Adobe Illustrator skills
  • Comfortable working in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)
  • Bonus: experience with baby/kids apparel, activewear, sleepwear, or soft goods
  • Bonus: familiarity with grading, garment construction, or textile/print repeats
  • An eye for clean, production-ready files and great attention to detail

This is a freelance/contract role, great for a designer who loves the technical side of apparel and wants flexible, project-based work with a brand that's all about supporting parents through pregnancy and beyond.
