Main purpose of the Associate Product Developer role:

This is a full-time role for a candidate who will closely collaborate with cross functional teams; like R&D, Design, and Technical Design, to ensure the completion of garments is executed from concept through production with the highest quality and within cost parameters. This position will utilize his or her problem-solving, multi-tasking and communication skills to help oversee the day-to-day development which includes ensuring brands are on calendar. This is a permanent full-time role for a highly organized candidate who can be a key communicator to other departments and global vendor partners. The ideal candidate will thrive in a creative fast-paced work environment.

Major Responsibilities:

The Product Development Assistant contributes to the development and production process by assisting in the placement, execution and follow-up of developments and ensuring on time delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Ensure updates are made to weekly WIP reports for multiple seasons simultaneously to maintain accurate information that is used by cross-functional partners

• Has entry level understanding of Product Life Cycle and the importance of adhering to deadlines, to help ensure timely developments

• Responsible for tracking, unpacking, distributing samples throughout the development process, which includes support with all TOP check-ins

• Communicate daily with vendors to ensure all info regarding sample tracking, material requests, and approvals is up to date and current

• Assist in follow-up on all product specifications, quality standards, lab dips, testing, sample deadlines, and deliveries - providing approvals when necessary

• Assist in day-to-day tasks and assignments as directed by management

• Other duties may be assigned, as needed


Required Competencies:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word), Google Suite (Slides, Sheets, Docs, Mail)

• Familiarity with PLM systems

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

• Experience in product development, production, or fashion-related roles is a plus

• Self-driven with a sense of urgency

• An active team player and belief that “no task is too small” to benefit the good of the business

• Must be able and willing to lift and carry up to 10 lbs., perform frequent repetitive finger, hand and wrist motions, as well as bending, stooping, reaching, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling


Minimum Qualifications:

• 1+ years’ experience in similar role

• Familiarity with product development timelines and processes

• Excellent computer skills including Excel and Internet research

• Solution oriented and critical thinker • Deadline focused and goal driven

• Must be able to perform efficiently with tight deadlines

• Team player and ability to multitask Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of fabrics and finishing

• Degree in Fashion, Product Development or similar field

• Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and knowledge of CAD a plus but not required

This takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications.

A reasonable estimate of the current base hourly range is $20.00/hour to $21.00/hour.
