As the Ministry Center Senior Consultant in Denver, you will provide operational leadership, mobilize volunteers and churches, and coordinate compassion ministry efforts that meet needs and point people to Christ. Your leadership will strengthen local partnerships and expand restorative ministry throughout the region.

About the Role This position will provide support to Send Relief's ministry objectives by establishing local ministry, coordinating compassion ministry among churches, mobilizing volunteers, and providing operational leadership within the Denver Ministry Center. You will work closely with the Ministry Center Director to grow ministry initiatives, develop partnerships, and equip teams for contextualized compassion ministry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Compassion Ministry Efforts: Serve as a key member of the Denver Send Relief team; oversee compassion ministry initiatives through assessments, training, partnerships, networking, and mobilization; foster a movement of restoration-based compassion ministry among churches and church planters.
  • Support Networking and Partnerships: Collaborate with the Ministry Center Director to develop and sustain networks among churches, partners, and church planters; organize vision tours, mission trips, and events to strengthen partnerships.
  • Expand Core Ministry Activities: Grow and support core ministry programs serving Denver communities; create practical learning environments to equip churches, partners, and individuals in contextualized compassion ministry practices.
  • Collaborate with Community Coalitions: Engage local ministry coalitions to address community, family, and individual needs through relationship-building, service, and gospel engagement.
  • Provide On-Site Leadership: Offer hands-on leadership to mission teams serving at the Ministry Center and provide operational support during site-based ministry activities.
  • Maintain Relationships and Communication: Establish and sustain positive relationships with ministry partners, churches, volunteers, and stakeholders.
  • Second-Line Leadership and Management: Support and mentor Journeymen, Consultants, volunteers, and other staff; interview, hire, train, appraise performance, manage rewards/discipline, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strategic Planning and Metrics: Partner with the Ministry Center Director to set goals and track progress using NAMB data systems; leverage online tools and applications to mobilize churches for compassion ministry.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by Ministry Center leadership.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in contextualized or cross-cultural ministry, including experience with homeless ministries, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Clear and compelling sense of God's call to ministry leadership (Ephesians 4:1, 11-13; Acts 13:2; Ephesians 3:8).
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience; ability to mentor and manage staff and volunteers.
  • Strong relationship-building, networking, and partnership development skills.
  • Experience in training, assessments, and mobilizing volunteers and churches.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and adapt in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Competence with digital tools and data systems for tracking metrics and mobilization.
  • Ability to travel regionally and provide on-site ministry leadership as needed.
  • Demonstrates a mature Christian walk rooted in scripture, prayer, and active church involvement.

Work Environment & Flexibility

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote work with in-person collaboration at the Denver Ministry Center and regional travel. Occasional site visits, events, and project coordination may require flexibility in hours and travel.
