    POSITION SUMMARY
    The Director of Disciple Life provides pastoral leadership and oversight for the discipleship and Christian education ministries of First Baptist Atlanta (FBA). This role leads Family Ministries and Adult Life pastors, directors, and key staff; equips and develops teachers and volunteers; and provides direct teaching within FBA’s discipleship strategy. Under the leadership of the Executive Director, Ministries, the Director ensures all Disciple Life ministries are biblically grounded, Christ-centered, and aligned with the beliefs, values, and mission of FBA.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    1.      Must have a growing and mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ
    2.      Must demonstrate pastoral leadership marked by integrity, humility, and spiritual maturity
    3.      Must possess strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively lead pastors, directors, staff, and volunteers
    4.      Must be an effective communicator with the ability to teach Scripture clearly and lead ministry teams
    5.      Master’s degree from an accredited seminary preferred
    6.      Minimum of ten years of ministry leadership experience in discipleship, Christian education, or spiritual formation
    7.      Must support and model FBA’s culture and service expectations, including the Red Carpet Standard (H.E.A.R.T.) and 3M Strategy
    8.      Must affirm, uphold, and teach in accordance with the beliefs, values, and mission of FBA
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    1.      Provide pastoral leadership and vision for Disciple Life ministries in alignment with the mission, beliefs, and doctrine of FBA
    2.      Lead, develop, and supervise pastors, directors, and key staff within Family Ministries and Adult Life
    3.      Ensure all teaching, curriculum, and ministry practices align with Scripture, FBA’s Statement of Faith, and established ministry direction
    4.      Develop and oversee a comprehensive discipleship and Christian education strategy across Disciple Life ministries
    5.      Teach classes and discipleship environments as part of FBA’s overall discipleship strategy
    6.      Guide direct reports in developing ministry opportunities that foster biblical fellowship, spiritual growth, and opportunities for individuals and families to encounter Jesus Christ
    7.      Equip and develop staff, teachers, and volunteers for effective ministry and continued spiritual and leadership growth
    8.      Guide pastors and directors in developing and stewarding ministry budgets consistent with biblical stewardship and responsible use of church resources
    9.      Ensure Disciple Life ministries provide safe, secure, and well-prepared environments and follow appropriate safety, security, and child-protection practices
    10. Establish ministry goals and regularly evaluate effectiveness, growth, engagement, and opportunities for improvement
    11. Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports and provide ongoing coaching, accountability, and development
    12. Foster collaboration, unity, and healthy communication across Disciple Life and church-wide ministries
