Job description

A leading global law firm with a strong New York presence is seeking a Legal Coordinator to support its team functions. This role is integral to managing the full attorney lifecycle, including onboarding, data management, and personnel processes, while ensuring operational excellence and compliance. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and bring strong organizational, communication, and systems skills.
Responsibilities
  • Lead onboarding and offboarding processes for lateral hires and fall associates, partnering with internal departments to ensure seamless execution.
  • Maintain and distribute legal status reports and coordinate attorney leave tracking and Benefits.
  • Manage attorney data and employment changes in Workday, ensuring accuracy, reporting, and data integrity.
  • Oversee compliance processes including I-9 administration and audits, and maintain personnel records in document management systems.
  • Coordinate logistics for attorney programs, including fall associate onboarding, part-time programs, and firmwide surveys.
  • Support compensation and administrative initiatives, including bonus processes, inbox management, and other departmental projects.

Requirements / Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment, with HRIS exposure (Workday preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, maintain attention to detail, and handle confidential information in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with a proactive, hands-on approach to work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PDF) and flexibility to work overtime as needed; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Compensation: $75,000 - 85,000
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
