    Here's the Gist:
    Wolfspeed is seeking a Facilities Operations Technician to join the Facilities Operations & Maintenance Team at our Durham, NC sites - the world's largest silicon carbide materials factory. This position requires you to operate and maintain the systems that provide uninterrupted services and critical utilities as needed to maintain life safety and production. To ensure that the facilities are maintained and conditioned as needed to provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment and enable Wolfspeed team members to be productive while performing their job functions.
    Shift work (12hr shifts) required to provide 24x7 coverage for the production facility (day and night shifts available). This is a position that requires attendance during adverse weather conditions.
    The Day-to-Day:
    • Monitors to ensure preventive maintenance is complete, and operate the operation of HVAC equipment, hydronic systems including chilled, heating, wastewater systems, compressed air, medium voltage electrical distribution, among other various exhaust systems.
    • Utilize control systems to monitor equipment within the factory and verify recent trends, respond to alarms and other urgent facility situations, troubleshoot operational parameters that fall outside of normal operating parameters.
    • Start and stop equipment as well as maintain facility operation through control software, work with computers and software to include Microsoft Office suite of products and SCADA.
    • Provide support for new equipment installation, startup, commissioning, and sustaining operations.
    • Must be able to work safely, use all personal protective equipment as required by OSHA/ job requirements, observe all safety policies during the execution of required tasks, participate in training as needed, and assist with training less experienced personnel.

    • Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
    • Must possess a valid US driver's license.
    • 5 years of related experience working in an industrial setting, military experience, or can be a combination of experience with a technical degree.
    • Use of computerized building management system / SCADA to maintain and troubleshoot facility equipment.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and effectively resolve complex equipment malfunctions on plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, chillers, fire system and other types of facility equipment.
    • Document clearly (verbal and written) and ability to work from verbal and written instructions, manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, piping and instrument diagrams, work orders and specification.
    • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, at heights and confined spaces, around machinery and moving parts.
    • Ability to work in repetitive motions and pressure involving fingers, hands, and wrists, includes standing or walking over hard concrete surface, and climbing ladders.

    This position requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations.
