The Facilities CTO will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

This senior-level position does not focus on direct line-management of maintenance crews; rather, it is a dedicated advisory and technical oversight role to assist the Stakeholder and Task Integration Manager (STIM) and Deputy STIM in maintaining the facility.

Reporting directly to the Deputy STIM, the Facilities CTO serves as a trusted technical counselor on the ground. In this capacity, you will provide independent evaluations and recommendations to both the Deputy STIM and the STIM. Your primary mission is to advise leadership on the technical integrity, modernization, and maintenance strategies of the facility's mission-critical systems ensuring maximum resilience and zero downtime.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary advisor to the Deputy STIM on all matters related to maintenance of the facility.
  • Provide the Deputy STIM with independent, data-driven recommendations on complex facility challenges, equipment lifecycles, and engineering trade-offs.
  • Assist the Deputy STIM by synthesizing complex technical data, system metrics, and incident reports into clear, high-level executive briefings for government customers.
  • Serve as the technical sounding board for the Deputy STIM when evaluating proposed facility modifications, system integrations, or vendor proposals.
  • Provide the Deputy STIM with independent, data-driven recommendations on complex facility challenges, equipment lifecycles, and engineering trade-offs.
  • Assist the Deputy STIM by synthesizing complex technical data, system metrics, and incident reports into clear, high-level executive briefings for program and government leadership.
  • Continually assess the technical footprints of critical support systems-such as uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), backup generators, precision climate control, and environmental monitoring grids-and counsel leadership on contingency planning.
  • Effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse group of external and internal associates within the organization.
  • Work independently to accomplish objectives with superior attention to detail.

Resumes, in month and year format, must be submitted with application in order to be considered for the position. The selected candidate may be assigned as an employee for one of our teammate companies.

Basic Requirements:

  • Must have a bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a highly related technical discipline.
  • Must have 10, or more, years of technical experience in critical facilities operations (e.g., defense mission centers, high-security data centers, or secure industrial plants)
  • Must have 5, or more, years of experience operating in a senior advisory, consulting, or technical oversight capacity.
  • Must have a proven track record of serving as a trusted technical advisor to senior program leadership (e.g., Deputy STIMs, STIMs, project directors, or military equivalents) on large-scale infrastructure systems.
  • Must have a deep theoretical and practical understanding of SCADA, BMS, HVAC/chiller systems, diesel generator systems, and automated switchgear.
  • Must have an active DoW Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:

  • Have experience working within the Missile Defense Agency or other DOD departments/agencies
  • Have a Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Facility Manager (CFM) credential
