What is a Facebook Monitor job?

A Facebook Monitor job involves reviewing and moderating content to ensure it aligns with community guidelines and platform policies. Responsibilities may include removing harmful posts, identifying spam, and flagging inappropriate behavior. Monitors often work for Facebook directly or through third-party moderation companies. Strong attention to detail, knowledge of platform policies, and the ability to handle sensitive content are key skills for this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Facebook Monitor position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Facebook Monitor, you need keen attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and familiarity with social media platforms, often supported by experience in content moderation or digital customer service. Experience with content management systems, moderation tools, and incident tracking software such as Meta's Community Operations dashboard is highly valued. Strong communication, decision-making, and stress-management skills set top candidates apart in this role. These competencies ensure that platform guidelines are enforced effectively, maintaining a safe and respectful online environment.

What are the typical daily responsibilities of a Facebook Monitor?

A Facebook Monitor typically spends their day reviewing reported content, responding to flagged posts, and ensuring all material complies with Facebook’s community standards. You may use specialized moderation tools to assess text, images, and videos, quickly deciding whether content should be removed or escalated for further review. Team collaboration is common, as Monitors often work closely with supervisors and other moderators to discuss challenging cases or emerging issues. This role also requires tracking patterns in user reports and contributing to ongoing improvements in platform safety. Staying adaptable and organized is key, as the pace and nature of flagged content can vary from day to day.

How much do FB moderators get paid?

Facebook moderators typically earn between $15 and $25 per hour, depending on experience, location, and the company they work for. Salaries can vary based on whether the role is remote or on-site, and some positions offer additional benefits or bonuses.

What jobs make 5000 a week without a degree?

A Facebook monitor typically earns less than $5,000 weekly; high-paying jobs that can reach this level without a degree include sales managers, real estate brokers, or skilled trades like electricians and plumbers, often requiring experience or certifications. Freelance roles such as digital marketing consultants or software developers may also reach this income level with specialized skills and client base growth.

Job description

About Us

F.O.U.N.D. is a nonprofit supporting people navigating life’s "pauses" - moments of change due to relocation, visa status, caregiving, or personal transitions. Our mission is to offer care-based, multilingual, and community-rooted support.

We’re seeking a Volunteer Social Media Coordinator for Facebook with some prior related experience to help us grow our online presence, engage our community through Facebook, and bring essential programs to more people.

What You’ll Do

  • Create original, engaging content (graphics, posts, reels, stories) tailored for Facebook.
  • Monitor accounts consistently to respond to comments, messages, and community interactions.
  • Research and apply current social media trends, viral formats, and online “hotspots” to boost engagement.
  • Develop and schedule posts to maintain a consistent content calendar.
  • Track basic metrics (likes, shares, comments, reach) to understand what resonates with the audience.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong understanding of Facebook platforms.
  • Preferably knowing how to write content from scratch
  • Awareness of internet culture, online trends, and viral content strategies.
  • Reliable and consistent in checking and updating accounts.
  • Prior experience in social media management or content creation is a plus.
  • Able to commit 5-10 hours per week (flexible schedule).

What You’ll Gain

  • Hands-on experience in social media strategy and content creation.
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact by amplifying F.O.U.N.D’s mission and community voice.
  • A chance to develop your skills in digital marketing and nonprofit communications.
