Facade Manager information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Facade Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Facade Manager, you need expertise in building envelope systems, construction management, and a relevant engineering or architectural qualification. Familiarity with façade design software (such as AutoCAD or Revit), project management tools, and industry standards is typically required. Strong leadership, attention to detail, and effective communication skills set top performers apart in this position. These competencies ensure the successful delivery of façade projects that meet safety, aesthetic, and performance standards while coordinating diverse teams and stakeholders.

What is the difference between Facade Manager vs Construction Project Manager?

AspectFacade ManagerConstruction Project Manager
CredentialsRelevant certifications in facade systems, construction management, or engineeringConstruction management, engineering, or architecture degrees; PMP certification often preferred
Work EnvironmentSpecialized in facade systems, working closely with architects, engineers, and contractors on building exteriorsOversees entire construction projects, coordinating multiple trades and disciplines
Industry UsagePrimarily in building envelope, facade installation, and exterior design projectsAcross all construction sectors, including commercial, residential, and infrastructure

The Facade Manager focuses specifically on exterior facade systems, ensuring design, quality, and installation standards are met. In contrast, the Construction Project Manager oversees the entire construction process, managing schedules, budgets, and teams across all project phases. Both roles require strong project management skills, but their scope and specialization differ significantly.

What are Facade Managers?

Facade Managers are professionals responsible for overseeing the design, construction, and maintenance of building facades. They coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure that the exterior elements of a building meet both aesthetic and functional requirements. Their role includes managing project timelines, budgets, quality standards, and compliance with safety regulations. Facade Managers also address technical challenges related to materials, weatherproofing, and energy efficiency to deliver durable and visually appealing building exteriors.

What are some common challenges faced by Facade Managers during the construction phase, and how are they typically addressed?

Facade Managers often face challenges related to coordinating multiple trades, managing complex installation sequences, and ensuring quality control amid tight project timelines. To address these, they work closely with design teams, suppliers, and site contractors to clarify specifications, plan logistics, and resolve technical issues promptly. Regular site inspections and clear communication channels are essential for identifying potential problems early and maintaining progress. Effective time management and adaptability are key in overcoming unexpected delays or design changes, ensuring the facade meets both aesthetic and performance requirements.

Job description

Global Roofing Group is a national leader in building envelope solutions, trusted by Fortune 500 companies, developers, and property managers since 1971. As we continue to expand our façade and wall panel capabilities nationwide, we're looking for experienced Façade Sales Estimators who want to play a key role in winning complex, high-profile projects.
This is more than an estimating role - it's a front-line position supporting growth, innovation, and long-term customer partnerships.
Why Join Global Roofing Group
At Global, estimators are not back-office support - they are embedded members of our Envelope Sales Teams, partnering closely with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain to pursue and win sophisticated façade and wall panel projects.
We believe in team selling, where technical expertise, collaboration, and shared accountability drive success. You'll work alongside experienced professionals, have access to best-in-class tools, and contribute to projects that shape skylines across the country.
If you're detail-driven, commercially minded, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, this role offers the opportunity to grow your career with a company that's investing heavily in its future.
What You'll Do
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents to define accurate scope for metal roofing and architectural wall panel projects
  • Perform detailed digital takeoffs using Bluebeam and prepare competitive, comprehensive cost estimates
  • Develop labor, material, equipment, and lift pricing assumptions aligned with constructability and execution plans
  • Partner with Sales to support bid strategy, customer qualification, and pursuit planning
  • Coordinate with suppliers to obtain pricing, validate product options, and ensure compliance with manufacturer requirements and warranties
  • Identify scope gaps, risks, or constructability challenges and incorporate them into estimates
  • Prepare professional customer proposals and support follow-up through award or close-out
  • Maintain organized estimating documentation and enter bid activity into Salesforce
  • Support project handoff meetings to ensure smooth transition from sales to operations
  • Continuously refine estimating accuracy through post-project review and analysis
What We're Looking For
  • Experience as a sales estimator or preconstruction professional in commercial construction, preferably metal roofing or architectural wall panels
  • Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and construction documents
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and CRM tools (Salesforce preferred)
  • Solid understanding of façade systems, materials, and installation methods
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple bids, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously
  • Professional, customer-facing communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset with strong follow-through and attention to detail
Why You'll Love It Here
  • Competitive Base + Bonus - performance-driven compensation
  • FREE Individual Medical Plan with upgraded options available
  • Comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, and Hospital Insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for financial, legal, physical, and mental well-being
  • WellHub Gym Membership - free for employees, discounted for family
  • Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays
  • Career growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding national organization
  • A high-energy, team-oriented culture that celebrates results and shared success
