Job description

This position is located in FEMA, Region Three, Office of Regional Administrator, serving as the Chief of Staff in Philadelphia, PA. The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled leader with experience in executive planning, policy implementation, staff management, and coordination of complex programs, supporting FEMA's mission in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

To qualify for this position at the GS-15 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:

  1. Supervisor for programmatic and technical staff supporting major initiatives in the Region and may act in a lead capacity for projects and tasks; and
  2. Primary liaison between the Region and the Office of Policy and Programs and with other organizational elements within the Agency; and
  3. Leads the development and implementation of the personnel processing systems; such as the agency's financial, human resource systems, etc; and
  4. Analyze programs to ensure implementation of policy and recommends alternatives or modifications to existing policy as necessary.

In addition to the minimum qualifications described above, you must meet the following requirement(s) to be considered qualified for the position:
