Job description


Job Description: Assist other technicians in the assembly process of compressor skids. Install electrical enclosures, electrical conduit, and electrical wiring. Termination of wiring and testing of electrical installations. Build wire control panels and install electrical instrumentation as needed.

Role and Responsibilities:
    • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on air compressor skids.
    • Must be able to run wiring and conduit, while working with 24V, 120V, and 480V electrical boxes according to NEC requirements.
    • Proficiency with low-voltage and high-voltage systems, as well as having an understanding with PLCs
    • Must have knowledge in plumbing and piping to assist the assembly process when needed
    • Accountable for ACS (Air Compressor Solutions) technical instructions, safety and service manuals.
    • You will be responsible for interpreting electric and electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and ladder logic.
    • Know and follow all Company and customer safety rules, including maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work area, fully participating in Company accident prevention and safety improvement activities.
    • Must have the physical ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for I&E applications, including protective glasses, protective gloves, and protective clothing and footwear as required by the job.
    • Maintains manufacturing records and process documentation, including program-specific manufacturing records, process instructions, and identification of changes to engineering prints.
    • Meet with management, both formally and informally, to deliver feedback and develop work optimization strategies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Use of hands/fingers or feel during normal job requirements.
  • Stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl while working on equipment.
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. (and occasionally up to 100 lbs. with assistance.)
  • Be certified in safe operation of lift trucks
  • Be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions (extreme heat and cold).
  • Required to work in areas of extreme temperatures due to weather conditions and operating equipment.
  • Ability to climb various equipment and ladders, lift and carry equipment, tools and components weighing up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
    • Mechanical and electrical aptitude, with experience in mechanical and electrical fields, particularly with air compressors. 1-3 yearsโ€™ experience with compressors and generators preferred.
    • Technical schooling, automotive or transportation fields, commercial, residential electric and or like military experience a plus. 1-3 yearsโ€™ experience in an I&E role
    • Willingness to learn and use new technologies.
    • High school diploma or GED certificate.
    • Knowledge of on-line technical manuals and electrical schematics preferred
    • Must complete IR Basic Rotary, Desiccant Dryer, Oil-Free certifications
