Job description

Mortgage Processor
Education Requirements:
High School diploma/GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience:
1+ years of mortgage origination/processing/underwriting and/or comparable experience in financial services/banking industry preferred. 1+ years of banking experience or related field required.
Knowledge Requirements (i.e. skills, abilities, personal characteristics):
Excellent customer service and communication skills, critical math skills, knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Suite (Exel/Word), mortgage loan processing software beneficial and credit/underwriting/processing experience a plus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Hours:
Work Hours M-F, 8-5 or some variation of this, plus some Saturday hours on occasion
Training Expectations Staying updated on Mortgage Compliance and systems
Critical Tasks
1. Understand the process of mortgage lending from application to closing including your role in the process including appraisal and title work.
2. Become proficient in Byte Enterprise platform, factual data and desktop underwriting.
3. Attention to detail and organization is critical in order to stay on top of conditions and documentation required to meet closing deadlines.
4. Friendly communication with customers, realtors, builders and title companies to set expectations about the process including what you will be requesting.
5. Ability to work with Mortgage Consultants as a team member who is motivated to help increase loan volume in a support role.
Other Duties
1. Communication positively with all Mortgage Team Members and Extraco Banks Team Members.
2. Perform in a support role to allow the Mortgage Consultants to meet with customer sand handle marketing for the branch.
3. Represent the branch and Extraco Banks positively inside and outside the Bank.
4. Complete required compliance training.
5. Learn investor websites and other mortgage data concerning underwriting regulations. Maintain knowledge of mortgage products and industry changes.
