Building skills in these areas, gaining relevant certifications, and establishing a strong online presence can help achieve this income level, often requiring a full-time commitment and specialized expertise.

What company owns extended stay?

Extended Stay America is a hotel chain owned by private equity firms Blackstone Group and Starwood Capital Group. It operates extended stay hotels across the United States, providing long-term accommodations for travelers and business professionals. Employees working in this industry may need customer service skills and familiarity with hospitality management systems.

What is an Extended Stay job?

An Extended Stay job typically involves working in a hotel or lodging facility that caters to long-term guests. Responsibilities may include front desk operations, housekeeping, guest services, and ensuring a comfortable stay for extended-stay visitors. Employees in these roles focus on creating a home-like environment, managing reservations, and assisting guests with their needs over an extended period.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Extended Stay position, and why are they important?

To thrive in an Extended Stay Hotel Manager role, you need hospitality management experience, basic accounting skills, and knowledge of property operations, often supported by a degree in hospitality or related certifications. Familiarity with property management systems (PMS), reservation booking platforms, and budget-tracking tools is typically required. Exceptional customer service, conflict resolution, and team leadership abilities are highly valued soft skills. These competencies are essential for ensuring high guest satisfaction, smooth day-to-day operations, and successful staff management within an extended stay property.

Can you work for a hotel and live there?

Extended stay hotel jobs often involve employees living on-site to provide 24/7 service, such as front desk or maintenance staff. However, most hotel employees do not live in the hotel permanently and work shifts; living arrangements depend on the employer’s policies and job role. Some positions may include employee housing, but this is not standard for all hotel jobs.

What are the main responsibilities of an Extended Stay Hotel Manager on a daily basis?

An Extended Stay Hotel Manager oversees the overall operations of a property catering to guests who require accommodations for weeks or months at a time. Daily duties typically include supervising front desk and housekeeping staff, managing guest check-ins and check-outs, addressing guest concerns, monitoring occupancy rates, and ensuring financial targets are met. Managers also coordinate periodic maintenance, oversee inventory, and implement policies to ensure a clean, welcoming, and efficient environment for both guests and staff. Collaboration with corporate offices, vendors, and local service providers is also a key part of the role. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to the unique needs of long-term guests.
