Job description

Rain Bird is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Customer Service Specialist to support our U.S. and international distributor and retailer network. This role combines customer service, sales and marketing support, ERP administration, international logistics coordination, and data analysis.

The position is highly cross-functional and ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, collaborating across departments, and learning new systems and processes.

This role offers strong development potential with future opportunities in areas such as Product Management, IT, Sales, Supply Chain, or other operational functions.


Responsibilities may include the following.

Customer & Sales Support

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to domestic and international distributors and partners
    • Serve as a key point of coordination between customers and internal teams including Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance
    • Advocate for customer needs while balancing operational and business requirements

International Logistics Support

  • Coordinate international shipping requirements with distribution centers and logistics partners
    • Prepare and review export documentation including commercial invoices, shipper’s letters of instruction, certificates of origin, and trade agreement documentation (e.g., USMCA)
    • Review international letters of credit to support compliant and successful transactions
    • Communicate with freight forwarders, brokers, and carriers to support smooth export operations

ERP & Systems Administration

  • Support order-to-cash processes within the ERP system including order entry, billing, and system setup
    • Assist with system improvements, data integrity, and operational process enhancements

Reporting & Data Analysis

  • Use Microsoft Excel to organize data, build reports, and support operational decision-making
    • Conduct data analysis related to pricing, order activity, and business performance

Cross-Functional Support

  • Participate in special projects across customer service and operations teams
    • Cross-train and provide backup support for other customer service functions when needed
    • Exercise sound judgment and initiative when resolving complex or ambiguous issues

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: customer service, order processing, ERP systems, supply chain, accounting/bookkeeping, internal or field sales support, or related operational roles
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, MIS, or related field
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Desired Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience supporting international logistics or export operations
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
    • Experience working in ERP systems
    • Knowledge of irrigation products or related industries
    • Experience working in collaborative team environments; leadership experience a plus
