Job description

Expo Responsibilities~ A restaurant kitchen’s efficiency rests on shoulders of the chefs & food expediter. An expediter works in the kitchen on the expo line which is where food is ready to be served to guests; they ensure orders are prepared in a timely manner, according to menu & customer specifications. The expeditor checks the screens to ensure that all of the orders are working & being prepared. They make sure the food is prepared correctly & special requests have been filled, garnish the food then keep orders flowing from the kitchen by directing runners & servers who deliver completed orders.


Expo Procedures The first & foremost job of the expo is to verify the quality & accuracy of the food coming out of the kitchen, to be the last line of defense for the kitchen before the food goes out. Once the food leaves the kitchen there is no turning back.
