The Opportunity

This position is contingent upon contract award and is expected to be based in Hawthorne, Nevada.

The Munitions Destroyer performs hands-on operations supporting the safe demilitarization and processing of munitions and explosive components.

Compensation details will be provided upon contract award.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual, technical, and mechanically assisted work involving the destruction, demilitarization, inspection, and maintenance of explosive ordnance and components
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment used in demilitarization and production processes, including melt kettles, hydraulic presses, grit blast systems, ovens, and electrostatic paint systems
  • Maintain accurate accountability of munitions and components, including documentation, discrepancy reporting
  • Follow and enforce all applicable safety, environmental, and explosive handling regulations, including explosive limits and hazardous waste requirements
  • Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and secure; perform housekeeping within explosive operations facilities
  • Operate forklifts, vehicles, and material handling equipment to support movement of personnel, tools, and munitions
  • Identify and report safety or environmental risks; actively participate in safety briefings and required training
  • Support emergency response activities, drills, and contingency operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain ATF clearance and a favorable NCIC III background check
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Munitions Destroyer Certification required
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in munitions or explosives operations
  • Valid state driverโ€™s license
  • Working knowledge of basic mathematics and electronics
  • Demonstrated proficiency in data entry and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet operational demands
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and safety-critical environment

Travel Requirements

  • This role is primarily based on-site in Hawthorne, Nevada, with travel required as needed to support project demands

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods, including standing, walking, and sitting
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs
  • Perform repetitive movements such as bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and reaching (including overhead)
  • Maintain manual dexterity for handling equipment and tools
  • Ability to safely work around machinery, vehicles, and other operational hazards
  • Adequate vision, including color differentiation, to safely perform job duties
