ION Solar is a rapidly expanding, full-service residential solar company with a strong nationwide presence. Our dedicated team is committed to making solar energy accessible and affordable for homeowners across the country.

Post Install Quality Assurance Team Lead

The Post Install Quality Assurance Team Lead is responsible for the oversight and quality control of the Post Install QA Specialists. This role ensures the team consistently delivers perfect install documentation to the Funding team and confirms all installations adhere to National Electrical Code (NEC), Local AHJ, and Utility requirements. This role serves as the departmental expert and primary escalation point for complex technical and personnel issues. You will be the primary point of contact for all departmental questions, and coaching within the team.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management & Quality Oversight: Manage the daily workflow, performance, and quality of the team's audit queue, ensuring all work is completed accurately and meets compliance standards.

Complex Case Resolution: Act as the final point of internal escalation for challenging installation audits, funding rejections, funding preventions, and "Cannot Complete Disputes," determining corrected reasons and guiding agents through resolution.

Interdepartmental Liaison & Procedure Enforcement: Serve as the primary communication channel with Funding, Design, and Field Operations. Enforce the required Standard Escalation Procedure for cross-team project handoffs (Team Member โ†’ Supervisor โ†’ Manager) to maintain workflow integrity.

Training & Mentorship: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) to train and mentor team members on solar PV technical literacy, code compliance, funding partner documentation, and internal audit procedures.

Performance Accountability: Monitor team metrics, coach agents on effective communication and conflict resolution with field personnel regarding required corrections, and ensure all documented "fail" reasons include specific, actionable instructions for return visits or repairs.

Required Skills

Expert Solar PV Technical Literacy: Advanced ability to interpret complex electrical and structural plansets, line diagrams, and Solar Bills of Materials (BOM).

Supervisory and Leadership: Proven ability to manage, motivate, and direct a team of technical specialists, including managing high-volume, deadline-driven workloads to ensure funding is not delayed.

Advanced Conflict Resolution & De-escalation: Exceptional skills in coaching team members and personally managing firm but professional conversations with field personnel regarding required corrections.

Knowledge of Regulatory and Funding Standards: In-depth familiarity with NEC standards, local building codes, utility interconnection requirements, and detailed funding partner documentation.

Digital Proficiency: Expertise in using project management software and photo-sharing platforms to track installation progress and adherence to quality control auditing standards.
