Job description

Company Description Velocity Sports Performance - Westchester is part of a regional network that offers science-based sports performance programming across four state-of-the-art facilities. With more than 50 years of collective coaching experience, the team specializes in biomechanical analysis and individualized training plans. Sports Performance Coaches work closely with athletes to help them reach specific performance and fitness goals. The environment is professional, data-driven, and focused on measurable results for athletes of all ages and levels. Applicants can expect to join a collaborative staff dedicated to continuous learning and high-quality coaching.

Role Description The Sports Performance Coach role is a part-time, on-site position located in Westchester & Dutchess County, NY. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing athletes’ biomechanical movement, designing and implementing individualized training programs, and leading small group and one-on-one coaching sessions. The coach will demonstrate proper technique, monitor progress, adjust programming based on performance data, and maintain a safe training environment. Additional responsibilities may include communicating with athletes and families about goals, collaborating with other coaches, and supporting facility operations as needed.

Qualifications


  • Strong Coaching and Training skills, with the ability to lead athletes effectively in individual and group settings.
  • Expertise in Athletic Performance and Strength & Conditioning, including developing sport-specific programs.
  • Experience or familiarity with Business Coaching, client relationship management, and basic program or session planning.
  • Knowledge of biomechanics, exercise science, or related fields, and ability to apply evidence-based practices.
  • Relevant certification (e.g., CSCS, NASM, ACE, USA Weightlifting) or a degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for athlete schedules.
