Job description

Job Description
Confidential Portfolio Company โ€ข Remote-friendly
About Us
Confidential Portfolio Company -- Our portfolio company is a publicly-traded hyper-growth fintech -- a venture-stage company that happens to be publicly traded. We are building the payment rails for the businesses the rest of the financial system overlooks - crypto-native companies and emerging-market financial institutions that move serious cross-border and stablecoin volume but can't get served by mainstream banks. We process billions of dollars a year for a fast-growing client base, and we're building the in-house infrastructure - compliance, orchestration, and direct access - to turn that into a category-defining payments business. We're a small, senior team where every person's work is visible and consequential. Here, compliance isn't a cost center; it's the engine that unlocks our growth.
Responsibilities
  • Sign and own all SEC reporting (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, S-1/S-3) as principal financial officer, with SOX certifications and disclosure controls.
  • Own the external audit relationship
  • Build the budget, forecast, and financial narrative - internally to the CEO and Board, externally to the street.
  • Serve as the company's primary financial voice to investors, analysts, and shareholders - earnings calls, investor conferences, and proactive outreach.
  • Manage Nasdaq listing compliance
  • Build and lead a small finance team, and get hands-on with the granular work as the company scales.
Requirements
  • 10+ years in progressive finance leadership, with at least 3 years as CFO or Principal Financial Officer of a US-listed public company
  • Small-cap or micro-cap Nasdaq / NYSE experience (sub-$500M market cap) as the signing officer
  • Documented capital-raising track record (preferred, but not required)
  • Deep SEC reporting and audit-committee experience, including S-1 / S-3 registration statements
  • CPA, with strong technical accounting acumen and the ability to engage on complex matters directly rather than only through delegation
  • Comfortable operating hands-on in a small, fast-moving public company
Bonus Points
  • Experience raising capital for growth stage companies
  • Payments, fintech, or financial services operating background with real understanding of processor economics and sponsor bank dynamics
  • Familiarity with digital asset, stablecoin, or emerging payments infrastructure
  • M&A execution experience (buy-side, sell-side, or divestitures)
  • Prior CFO seat at a payments, fintech, or financial services company

Perks
  • Equity participation in a public company with real upside
  • Remote-first
  • A genuine founding role: you build the function, own it end to end, and report directly to senior leadership and the board
  • The rare chance to own compliance at the frontier of crypto, stablecoins, and cross-border payments
