Overview

Waters Corporation is currently seeking an individual to join our organization as Principal Consulting Product Manager supporting our software portfolio in the SDMS and Lab Management space. This role will be in Brasov (Romania), Wilmslow (U.K.) or Milford, (MA, U.S.A).

The successful candidate will bring substantial experience leading regulated laboratory software products, including both on-market and in-development offerings, together with a strong background in cloud/SaaS product strategy and delivery.

As a Principal Consulting Product Manager, you will define and lead the direction for a portfolio of SDMS and Lab Management products across their lifecycle, spanning current commercial offerings and future product development. This role requires a highly experienced product leader who can align business strategy, customer needs, technology direction, and cross-functional execution while influencing senior stakeholders across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the product management lead for on-market and in-development products in the SDMS and Lab Management space, including accountability across strategic direction, lifecycle planning, and value realization.
  • Partner with Product Owners and cross-functional leaders to shape and maintain integrated roadmaps that span near-term delivery and long-term portfolio evolution.
  • Develop and maintain robust business cases for product investments, new capabilities, partnerships, and portfolio extensions.
  • Communicate product and portfolio vision internally and externally through executive presentations, customer engagements, analyst briefings, webinars, and other thought leadership activities.
  • Provide senior product leadership across multiple product initiatives, guiding prioritization, trade-off decisions, and investment recommendations for both sustaining and new product development.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, customer outcomes, and portfolio performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and inform strategic decisions.
  • Partner with sales, marketing, services, and customer success teams to support launch excellence, adoption, retention, and growth of the portfolio.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Degree level education, preferably in a science related discipline or computer science.

Experience: 

  • 8+ years' experience across Product Management, Product Owner, Product Marketing, or related strategic product disciplines, with clear evidence of operating at senior or portfolio leadership level.
  • Strong domain knowledge of regulated laboratory informatics, including significant experience with Scientific Data Management Systems (SDMS), Lab Management solutions, and adjacent informatics workflows.
