Job description

Position Overview
Amazon is seeking an experienced Compensation Specialist to join our team. This role will support the implementation and ongoing management of complex compensation programs, including our Provider Incentive Plans, while serving as a strategic partner to business leaders across the organization.
About the Role
As a Compensation Specialist for One Medical you will manage complex compensation problems and influence key stakeholders to champion Amazon's compensation model. You will work independently on large-size projects and programs, providing strategic compensation solutions while building trusted relationships with business leaders. This role requires both tactical execution and strategic thinking to support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Compensation Management
1. Manage complex compensation problems and influence key stakeholders on One Medical and Amazon's compensation philosophy and strategy
2. Navigate ambiguity across multiple internal business initiatives, soliciting input from business and cross-functional teams
3. Anticipate business needs and create forward-looking compensation solutions, highlighting potential risks and barriers
4. Make trade-offs between short and long-term needs to achieve optimal outcomes
Stakeholder Partnership & Leadership
1. Build trusted relationships with senior and executive-level leadership through delivering results across various engagements
2. Manage and set stakeholder expectations by understanding their challenges and demonstrating flexibility and ownership
3. Lead Business and Steering Committee reviews and advocate for compensation program design and delivery
4. Educate others effectively on topics related to variable pay, Healthcare and assigned client groups
Program Design & Implementation
1. Lead implementation of complex incentive programs, including provider dashboard development, plan documentation, payroll readiness, controllership, standard operating procedures and continuous improvement
2. Create new frameworks and establish new and equitable business practices across multiple variable pay programs, such as incentive pay, merit incentives and professional development
3. Identify, define, and improve processes, automation, and tools that scale for client groups
4. Develop and deliver white papers (QBRs, policy and process documentation) to stakeholders
5. Drive scalable solutions and apply best practices to transaction processes
6. Draw insights from data to identify root causes, trends, and validate compensation assumptions for the variable pay plans
Cross-Functional Collaboration
1. Partner with teams including , HRIS (Workday) Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Legal, Employee Relations, Finance, Payroll, HR Operations, and Technology on multi-workstream initiatives
2. Coordinate across a vast range of stakeholders and manage complex milestones in multi-functional efforts
3. Respond appropriately to urgent or ad-hoc requests, identifying correct teams to involve and escalating as needed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 5+ years of finance, compensation or consulting experience
- 5+ years of Human Resources, Compensation Management or Consulting experience
- Knowledge of Excel and Peoplesoft
- Knowledge of compensation compliance with state and federal laws
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
- Experience conducting sophisticated and creative analysis of complex data and translate the results into actionable deliverables, messages, and presentations
- Experience communicating complex business concepts in verbal and written form
- - Experience in a fast-paced, high-tech company, or experience completing complex tasks quickly with little to no guidance and react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround
- - Experience with compensation planning, negotiation, and implementation

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
